Rasmuessen Reports
Bush 48% Clark 38%
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/Presidential%20Contenders_January%202004.htm
January 15, 2004--Ten days ago, the first Rasmussen Reports Election 2004 survey found that Howard Dean was more competitive with President Bush than any other Democrat. That is no longer the case.
In head-to-head match-ups with the President, retired General Wesley Clark trails by just ten points, 48% to 38%. That's an improvement from a nineteen point gap ten days ago.
Senator John Kerry trails the President by eleven points, 48% to 37%. Ten days ago, he trailed by 20.
Dean trails the President by twelve points, 50% to 38%. That's only a modest improvement from 51% to 37% in the first Rasmussen Reports survey.
                      1/13-14   1/2-4
Bush-Clark       48-38      51-32
Bush-Kerry       48-37      51-31
Bush-Dean       50-38      51-37
Bush-Gephardt  50-36     51-31

Bush-Lieberman 48-34     50-34

1. better fix your headline, you have Clark 48% and Bush 48%
and it just goes to show how competitive this is. Some weeks Clark might be running a point or two better against Bush other weeks Dean is. Right now Clark is ten points down, and Dean is twelve. In other words no statistical difference.

2. Watch the trend - Shrub's support eroding
Yes 1 or 2 points at a time is perhaps not significant. A point a week until November would be nice.

All the dems picked up ... meaning the undecideds are mostly tipping toward the Dems as time goes by!
