their talk show mouthpieces already smell defeat.

steve gill, an overweight nashville trial attorney who was well known as a cokehead and a barfly during the 80s, turned churchgoing morning reader of the rnc's faxed talking points, said if kerry won there wasn't going to be a honeymoon. he'd start in tomorrow, telling the world what an awful man kerry is.

if they believed they were going to win, they'd never articulate something like that.

2. Ben Stein, last night on MSNBC Hardball
Edited on Tue Nov-02-04 10:36 AM by maine_raptor
He made a comment as they were closing out his seg. Something to the effect that he was voting for a man that had been married to the same woman all these years.

Definite dig at Kerry (IE his divorce).

The mud will not stop with the voting. When Kerry wins look for talk about "dishonorable discharge cover-up", etc. I suspect that Kerry's anti-Vietnam work will be turned against him over the next four years.

4. yah - but only if we let it.
All Kerry needs to do is say "I'm not even going to respond to that, just like I wouldn't respond to a picture in the Enquirer of my meeting with a space alien. It's beneath the American discourse."

9. the space alien

Who did Weekly World News' Space Alien endorse this year anyway?

I heard that Bat Boy was doing a great job in Iraq.

7. My first ballot was cast for Adlai Stevenson (1952)
One of the things going around then was; "Do YOU want a divorced man in the White House"? Adlai didn't make it, although it's hard to say what effect that "issue" had on the tally.

But it was Ronnie Reagan who was the first divorced man in the White House. I haven't watched TV in the past 7 years or so, so I haven't the slightest idea who that Ben Stein guy is. But it'd be fun asking him if he ever voted for Reagan.

10. Ben Stein is a former Nixon speech-writer and host
of a Comedy Central game show (since canceled I think) called "Win Ben Stein's Money". You may have seen him on TV, though, doing ads for Visine (sp?). If you do, he's the one holding the beach ball.

Long time rethug, so yes, I'd say he voted for RayGun.

The point to me, is that they (the GOP) are already starting to issue trial balloons for the fight during the next four years of Pres. Kerry's first term.

11. Ben Stein disappoints me....
he's got no problem voting for an allegedly recovering alkie and cokehead, but he won't vote for a guy that's been divorced.

nice values.

16. You're right, of course
But remember "Whitewater" had an early whisper campaign start. It began right after Clinton's win in 92 and exploded with the NTY Garth article the following March.

So, if history repeats itself......look for this to "hit the front pages" in about 6 months or so, maybe?

17. Maybe we can give them a slightly larger story to cover,
like a war crimes trial, Chaney's energy meetings, Jeb's voter disenfranchisement trial, etc.

3. of course there won't be a honeymoon
these rabid freaks won't stop until there is a civil war. They are professionally persecuted and see the bogeyman under every rock, but ironically make really lousy martyr material themselves.

No, they'll be armchair warriors and bitter; although without a mandate they'll look pretty stupid.

Just keep your fingers crossed that it's a landslide - a political mandate to reject the neo conversative corporate welfare warmongering fundamentalist cult.

5. And I will be right back at him and his ilk.
I won't let them do to President Kerry what they did to President Clinton. I suspect everyone here will be on board.

8. They won't be able to
The political landscape is different now than when Clinton took office. We know what to expect and we're ready for them. We're on the airwaves now like we weren't in the 90s. Limbaugh is now so uncool and Jon Stewart is rocking. We've got Big Al Franken and Michael Moore and LOTS more very cool, very hip liberals out there smokin' in the media! The media guns will be turned against them like it never was in the 90s when we were asleep or afraid. NO MORE. I will personally makeit my business to keep up the defense of John Kerry against all enemies. Letters to the editor, Internet polls and opinion pages, you name it, I'll do it. GO KERRY!
