can we come up with an organized plan of attack
it would be great if we could start a section just for positive ways we can fight the election results and if that does not work we can start working on getting bush impeached.. This site had a very organized plan for dealing with Sinclair Broadcasting..something similar would be great...I am so tired but would love to hear some ideas... and would love to see everyone getting organized in some way..

1. Please give up the fantasy of having Bush impeached...
He's got a 55-45 majority in the Senate, which would need to convict him by a 2/3rds margin. That's assuming that we could even get articles of impeachment through a House that, likewise, has a Republican majority.

If you really want to fantasize about impeachment, the first trick would be to figure out how to gain at least 10 Senate seats and 20 House seats in 2006. Until we can do that, you might as well find a positive way for the Glinda the Good Witch to appear magically, wave her wand, and set everything aright...

2. I thought of impeachment, but........................
it won't work because of Republican control of Congress. When Nixon was re-elected in 1972 Democrats controlled Congress and that is how they were able to investigate Watergate.

7. You have hit the nail on the head. But, how?
I believe the first step is to correctly diagnose their problem as part of global epidemic of religionism. They have all the characteristics of cults. If that's true, then they will need to be deprogrammed, no easy task.

Since there is no such thing as "unnatural", we should determine how they slipped off into such aberrant or fantasy based modes of thought.
Why would perfectly healthy people wander off into a world view that is based on "voodoo", totally out of touch with obvious reality?

People are attracted to religion for many different reasons, too many for us to grasp. However, if we could focus on the more obvious reasons, perhaps there may be ways to make some progress.

This forum is no place to attempt to "write a book". For the sake of brevity, let me propose that one of the "Trojan horses" that religion uses to capture the minds of it's victims is the fallacy that one's spirituality can only be explored through the auspices of organized religion. All people are naturally in search of their spiritual nature and as they follow that quest, they are easily conned into believing the the Church offers the only road to attainment.

My fellow poster, you are correct in your assessment that religious fundamentalism is the problem. Somehow we need to counter that threat to civilization. What are your thoughts as to how we could do this?

4. In order to turn this terrible situation around, millions of afflicted
religionists would need to be de-programmed out of their voodoo state of mind. Intellectually, they are the "walking dead". I doubt that there is any organized way to accomplish this.

I'm afraid that the more likely outcome is that other political forces from outside the U.S. (and I don't mean suicide bombers and small scale attacks) will ultimately decide to counter the rouge state operations of the U.S. Don't think for a second that such a turn of events isn't entirely possible. Just because we are rich and militarily powerful doesn't mean that we are invincible. We are also fast becoming the stupidest Country in the world. Our education system is already in shambles and is declining still, we are out sourcing our best technology jobs. In 20 years, we won't be able to design, produce, maintain and use our own technology. Regardless of how much military hardware we possess, in the hands of morons, they are ineffective.

5. Our #1 priority should be playing defense on court appointees.
Bush will try to stack the courts. This we know for sure.

The Supreme Court is the final word on many issues. The checks on the Supreme Court's power are soooooo weak, making this branch sometimes more powerful than the others.

We need to prevent Bush from putting-up any more Scalia clones. The only true line of defense that Democrats have left in the Senate confirmation process is the filibuster. So.. we need to call our Senators and badger the hell outta them to keep-up filibusters on all Scalia-like nominees. Considering how bad this could be, even getting an O'Connor-type judge could be considered a victory for us (*gag*). A Souter-type judge would be the best we could aim for.. kinda like a stealth liberal.

So we, the Democratic Base, need to put intense pressure on our Senators to keep the filibuster going when nomination time comes around. We need to make it clear to them that we'll sit at home if they let us down. There's a lot we'll be disappointed over, but this is one of the few things that we just CANNOT let slide.

6. Total economic boycott. Massive civil disobedience. Call the media daily
Make the facts of the exit poll variance know EVERYWHERE.

Buy NOTHING but bare necessities of life. Food - Beans and rice and salsa will hold you.

Don't give them anything.

We are fighting for our lives here.

NO concession. NO Surrender.
