OK, I was wrong. I Offer My Apologies.
I spent the better part of the post election ragging on John Kerry for quiting.

That was wrong. I'm sorry.

I wrote a post election night, asking every DUer to stand up and say "John Kerry - we've got your back!"

Then, for reasons known only to Kerry, he decided to drop the vote challenges. So I decided to drop my support.

Where did that put me? Well I had to decide whether a John Kerry who conceded has earned my support. Then I had to decide whether a John Kerry who conceded is better or worse than George Bush.

The first question was hard to answer. The second? That was an easy question to answer.

ABB.

Anyone is a better choice than Bush.

1. We're ALL frazzled, frayed, and deeply pissed off, man.

Considering the situation, My wife and I aren't taking each others' moods too personally this week... I hope no one here does.

2. Well that may be, but I was taught to say sorry
when I'm wrong.

So...Sorry DU. Sorry John Kerry. I was wrong to be critical of Kerry. Only he and his God know why he acted as he did. There are more important issues at the present.

Kerry is not the progressive movement. If I can't get Kerry's back, I'll have to focus on the Democratic Party. If the Democratic party
concedes, then I fight for the progressive spirit and movement.

I can stand losing, and I can stand being the #2 party, but I can not stand being cheated and seeing my country go down just because I'm too "civil" to call a cheater a cheater.

I will not play a willing part in our own demise.

9. I think we're all on the same page.

I'd love to get some straight answers about this election, but I don't hold out a whole lot of hope. I mean, we've known for 8 months or so that there's a tape of a teenage boy being sodomized at Abu Ghraib, and has it ever surfaced? Nope. All the "far worse revelations" magically stopped when Nick Berg's head came off.

I'm absolutely flabbergasted at how much the media is in the pocket of the PTB.. I guess I shouldn't be. But without a viable and energetic fifth estate willing to talk about something other than fucking Laci Peterson, I feel like I'm banging my head against the wall.

Anyway, apology accepted.

4. He was going to fight
He said he would take it to them if they attacked.

He put his tail between his legs at every turn.

7. Ok. Perhaps thats correct. So What?
Its over. Now we MUST move forward from where we sit.

Bashing Kerry is devisive, and we don't know why he did what he did, and it's a diversion. We have about a month to stop the fruad. How do you want to spend it?

Arguing about John Kerry?

Lets not worry about him. Lets worry about the future. We can not win when we're playing with loaded dice.

5. Nice but If you get to know Kerry better you might grow to see it's more t
than ABB. He is a great man not just a way for you to change the way things are. He is a human being not a solution to your problems.

6. ABB is OVER!
We might be better off forming a new party along the lines of the British Liberal Democrats than to continue to wallow under the bankruptcy of the DLC.

8. A John Kerry who folds is far superior to GW Bush on any day.
But this isn't about Kerry anymore, if it ever really was.

It's about a fair vote count. Its about a free election in a free society.

It does not matter how great the candidate, it matters how free we are to chose between the candidates. Right now, our choice is an illusion because our voices have been muted.

We could drag Thomas Jefferson, John F. Kennedy, and Franklin Roosevelt back from the grave, merge them into a super candidate, and nominate them. Even if we ran against Dan Quayle with a frontal lobotomy, we would lose, becaue they CHEAT.

So, fall out of love with John Kerry, he's just the nominee. For the next month, fall in love with free elections.

Dont fight for a great man, fight for a great idea.

Great ideas don't quit, and they can not be killed.
