Howard Dean considering bid to chair Democratic Party
http://cbsnewyork.com/local/NYC--Dean-DNC-nyn/resources_news_html

Former presidential candidate Howard Dean is considering a bid to become chairman of the national Democratic Party.

Steve Grossman, himself a former chairman of the Democratic National Committee, said Dean had told him he was thinking about it.

Dean was traveling today in New York and unavailable for comment. His spokeswoman, Laura Gross, said ``it was far too early to be speculating on that.''

The 240 members of the Democratic National Convention will elect a new chair early next year. Several names are already being mentioned, including former Clinton aide Harold Ickes; Donna Brazile, who ran Al Gore's presidential campaign, and Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack.

1. I say, GOOD! no no, GREAT!!
How can that be a bad thing? Unless of course you'd rather have him concentrating more on the Presidency (which also wouldn't be a bad thing...)

3. Yes, Howard, DO IT!
We need someone who will insist the party stand by the courage of it's convictions! Howard is the one to do it, not another DLC-clone "lets all move to the middle" yahoo.

14. Thanks for the link!
It was nice to be able to voice what I'm been thinking since "the scream". Howard Dean would earn our support as he has earned our gratitude for his energizing of the party during the primaries!

7. I'm all for it!
Dean can both fund-raise like a madman AND get the base fired up AND he won't roll over like a stuck pig every time the GOP says "boo!"

9. Mixed emotions...
I think he'd make an awesome DNC Chairman, but I also think he'd be a HUGE plus to our ticket in 2008, and he can't do both. Decisions, decisions...

10. Last night he said he had not decided.
The media is ignoring that. He was interviewed in Albany, said he was not sure if he would try for DNC or run for president. He said it very clearly.

Grossman is the one who helped sabotage Dean just before Iowa. He left and went to Kerry. I am suspicious.

13. Dean would be a GREAT chairman.
He wouldn't be afraid to counterpunch; no more of that pussy silence from liberals in response to right wing attacks. He's a great political mind.
