Don't miss the great endorsements on our homepage!
To mark the beginning of the primary season, the editors of Democratic Underground solicited articles from our members in support of the Democratic presidential primary candidates.

I want to say "thank you" to all of you who submitted articles for consideration. We got lots of great stuff, but unfortunately we could only pick one for each candidate.

5. I'm a little disappointed to see this thread sink like a stone.
Your friends on the message board wrote these awesome endorsements, and I think they deserve a little recognition. Maybe this just reinforces the idea that people just aren't that interested in the positive stuff right now.

6. As Toby Zeigler would say
Do ya think? Sadly positive threads are either trashed or ingored. It has been such for months.

7. I don't really blame people.
Conflict and disagreement are inherently more interesting than the lack of conflict. I don't think it is surprising or even "bad" that people aren't interested in the positive. It's just human nature.

I guess my point was simply this: People keep complaining about the relative lack of positive stuff, and they imply that this is something that I can and should change. But in reality it's not something that could ever be changed. Discussions that are all positive -- discussions that do not allow people to disagree -- are just not that interesting. They're fun for a while, but in the long run they get boring. Just look at how participation in the "Daily Democrat" positive threads plummeted after the first week.

I don't hold it against people that they naturally participate in discussions with disagreement. But it gets pretty frustrating when people expect me to somehow change human nature. It's an impossible task, even if you are the all-powerful admin.

12. I heartedly agree
If you have ever gotten the idea that I think the negative tone of posts here is your fault that isn't what I meant. I have been angry about particular cases of rule enforcement and with the way those have been dismissed in the ATA forum. But the general negative tone that has taken over the place is the fault of the people posting. No one in the Admin makes these people post what they do and ignore what they do. That is on us not you.

13. But, Skinner if we give up trying to be positive, we will have Faux Rule!
or worse,Mob Rule. Somebody has to keep trying. That job falls to you! :P Your efforts are applauded by the "silent, lurking DU Majority."

They are out there. And they answer your polls. They just don't always express their appreciation for what you do, unfortunately.

21. I feel very badly for you
It is too bad CMB dropped out before Skinner came up with this. You deserve your moment in the sun more than just about anyone else. Your steadfast, impassioned, and totally positive support for CMB was wonderful. I hope she gets a great position in a Dean administration.

25. I'd say me too about the Dean administration
But I'm not 100% yet. With endorsements like Carol's and yours, I'm starting to tilt towards Dean--So right back at you with the compliments. It's smart, dedicated people like you that will make a diffference. Keep it up, and we'll send that phony back to Crawford for keeps.
