Just remember Saddam was bad and the people swimming for safety . . .
. . .are better off dead than living under Saddam.

-snip-
"U.S. soldiers began to open fire on the houses, so I decided that it was very dangerous to stay in my house," he said.

Hussein said he panicked, seizing on a plan to escape across the Euphrates River, which flows on the western side of the city

"I wasn't really thinking," he said. "Suddenly, I just had to get out. I didn't think there was any other choice."

In the rush, Hussein left behind his camera lens and a satellite telephone for transmitting his images. His lens, marked with the distinctive AP logo, was discovered two days later by U.S. Marines next to a dead man's body in a house in Jolan.

AP colleagues in the Baghdad bureau, who by then had not heard from Hussein in 48 hours, became even more worried.

Hussein moved from house to house — dodging gunfire — and reached the river.

"I decided to swim ... but I changed my mind after seeing U.S. helicopters firing on and killing people who tried to cross the river."

He watched horrified as a family of five was shot dead as they tried to cross.
Then, he "helped bury a man by the river bank, with my own hands."

"I kept walking along the river for two hours and I could still see some U.S. snipers ready to shoot anyone who might swim. I quit the idea of crossing the river and walked for about five hours through orchards."

Lovely. I'm horrified simply reading about it. God bless "America's Finest."

4. Yes, and God bless our fine and moral president.
I too am horrified and heartsick, especially when I contemplate our future and see only a black hole of despair ahead of us.

Thanks, all those of you who voted for this man of faith. I advise you to keep your faith handy--you're gonna need it!

3. "...a family of five was shot dead as they tried to cross."
I'm sorry -- tell me again why I should "support our troops"? I should support murderous bastards just because they're OUR murderous bastards?

As I recall, the Nuremburg trials established that "just following orders" was NO defense against being charged for war crimes.

If any troops want to lay down their arms and refuse to murder any more civilians, THEM I'll support. For the rest of them, if they're participating in this rampage against a country that never threatened us, then they have blood on their hands. I'll afford them the same measure of compassion as they are affording the Iraqis, and not one jot more.

6. We HAVE to keep stories like this up their for the dumbshit true
believers to see. Maybe a little truth and reality might make them start to think about their compassionate Christian fake president.

You have given the news article AP Photographer Flees Fallujah a rating of 5.
Its current average rating is 4.66 with 89 vote(s).

7. War crimes! The ICC needs to deal with this, it is horrifying!
The US may not have signed on to the ICC but countries that bush needs have signed on, we need indictments against the total bush cabal so that they cannot leave the US or they will be sent to the Hague.

9. I'm sickened by the reality of this holocaust...
And the effort to hide the truth of it from the American people.

11. They MUST have been a family of five terrorists
CNN said all the civilians had left the city. Surely we wouldn't be shooting and GASSING Saddams "own people".
