I'm thinking about the upcoming battle for Chairmanship for the DNC. How far will one wing of the party go to keep Dean from becoming chair. Will talking head discussions be accompanied by video clips of the famous Dean Scream?
If I recall, the TV talking heads replayed the clip something like 600 times after Iowa. Will the RW media and talking heads try to paint Dean as a madman again? In my opinion, the news coverage of that event was one of the most shameful episodes of the primary season. It was propaganda; it was manipulation; it was disgusting.
I wasn't a Dean supporter back then but I am open-minded enough to recognize a political assassination when I see it.
The question I ask is this: Will the battle get this ugly again?
LoL, yea I can picture it, Lieberman sending all of Dean's DNC chair backers the video along with a note, "Do you really want the party led by this maniac?"
Never mind that they've nearly destroyed the party, have deprived more than half the country of a political voice, and can't get their candidates elected above the level of school board. They feel as keen a sense of entitlement to power as Idiot does.
Dean's going to have the fight of his life trying to dislodge those conservative old farts.
That's because a dinosaur in its death throes will still fight, though die it will.
As for the scream, it only has a negative connotation if we choose to let it be so. I like the idea that others have expressed of embracing it as a rallying cry. In any event. . .
I am so past having any interest in what Republicans or DNC types or DLC types have to say about Dean. They can get with the program or they can get out of the way before they are pushed. Because we are coming.
You know, I didn't take that into consideration in my original post. That may be the one (and only) reason that it would not be used to try to villianize Dean in his campaign for DNC chair.
I have it downloaded. I always get a chuckle out of it. :)
In the popular media I rarely hear Dean talked about without mention of the scream. I think the more time passes the more it doesn't matter anymore. If you don't already think Dean is crazy then hearing the scream one more time isn't going to change your mind.
