Micheal Savage attacking B*sh
Driving home yesterday was long due to the rain so I was scanning the AM stations and came across "Savage Nation". Most of you know this guy as an ultra-conservative. Anyhow, he went on to say that since so many AM talk shows are anti-liberal that he was going to turn focus from now on to GWB and his policies that re "killing the country".

Among other things, he lambasted Bush on:

1. Mishandling the occupation
2. Immigration policy
3. The intelligence reform bill
4. Being two-faced on family values
5. The agriculture trade deficit

Like the sheep they are, callers (mostly from the Christian right) phoned in to pile on GWB.

It is interesting to see unfolding and even more interesting to see the mainstream republican party abandoning the "Reagan-style" of republicanism and the resulting schism. It will be interesting to see how it unfolds.

10. Joe Scarborough said something about this
<Joe Scarborough, a former Republican congressman from Florida who now hosts MSNBC's nightly "Scarborough Country," says the challenge for conservative hosts will be to prove "that we're more than just the Pravda of the right." He adds, "I think that's going to be difficult for some people. I honestly don't know what Sean Hannity is going to be able to talk about. If you've been reading off the Republican National Committee's talking points like he has for the past four years, it's going to be hard to be critical of the status quo." >

6. I'm not really surprised.
A lot of people who are further right than Bush*, or would like to see more social conservative policies enacted than Bush* puts into law still vote for Bush* because they know it's the only way to get further toward their goals. I think on the whole, they may be more disciplined at this than we are.

9. Are you a long time listener of Micheal Savage...
...because if you are, you ought to know that Savage is the master of dis-information and an ultra-neo-conservative mouthpiece for the far right. If he is dissing Dubya, then he his doing that as part of the cabal of disinformation. I know that our options of what is available and who we choose to listen to during commuter traffic time are very limited. But my friend, Savage is a total nut job and has no credibility for objective discourse on talk radio whatsoever! I live in Central Florida and I listen to UCF jazz or NPR classical music when Savage is broadcast here. In fact, there is nothing but neo-fascist talk radio here at day and all night long with the exception of the Jim Phillips Show from 3:00pm to 7:00pm and Coast to Coast with Norey from 9:00pm to 11:00pm. Everything else is RW propaganda and mind control babel.

25. He's a bum
He didn't like his last name (Weiner) so he changed it to the more manly SAVAGE. He sold health supplements on late night TV. He's one of those cheesy guys that never seems to have a "real" job, but because he is willing to be "outrageous" (code for insulting people of differing lifestyles, skin tones, ethnicities, or faiths), he gets ratings, from those who agree with him, or who listen for the controversy.

I'm sick to death of hate-mongerers. He's one of the first order. He should be ashamed of himself, but he's far too stupid to even have an awareness of what an ass he actually is.

21. Hmmm...the worm turns. I have heard a number of RW talkers
taking a more critical view of "His Highnass". I think they all really despised him, but needed him to keep control of the government. So they went along with him. Now that he is in and they have gained seats in both houses, they don't need him anymore.

The far RW has an agenda, and they don't want Bush standing in the way. So they have taken the gloves off, because they have nothing to lose. They can beat up on Bush all they want because they have the legislature, and many state governments on their sides. Their criticism of Bush will pressure him to take even harder lines than he might have planned, to appease the far RW. I heard one talking head say he may already be a lame duck president.

Sometimes he loves Bush, next day he will bash him. It depends on whatever mood he is in that day.

Thank goodness his talk show is slowly dying. His peak was his MSNBC foot-in-mouth. Soon the only stations he will be on are the "Christian" broadcasters Salem Broadcasting.

Gay.
Savage is the Homophobic posterboy.

Bush had Elton John and his boyfriend at the WH. "Where is his morals?"
Called the administration King and his court.

The very last time I heard any of his show he was talking about Master and Comander (the movie not the video) being gay. "Didn't you think it was gay all those boys, even my wife thought it was gay."
I had just seen the movie and didn't think so, but to him even Christmas is gay.

but last night Keith Olbermann said, and I'm paraphrasing, "Who needs Democrats when you have Republicans vs. Republicans."

I LOLed, because I was assuming the fundies v. the paelo-cons would erupt into more of a war over words.

Meanwhile, the Dems can keep working on election fraud, Diebold and voter suppression; getting the message out about how horrible BushCo is for the middle and working classes and America's failing stature in the world, both economically and culturally.

42. Savage is Jewish ... and swam naked with Allen Ginsberg -- see Salon
March 5, 2003 | At first glance, Michael Alan Weiner seems like an improbable candidate to be America's angriest, most vicious conservative radio host. Born 60 years ago in the Bronx, Weiner has lived in Northern California for most of his adult life, making a living as an herbalist and nutritionist. He communed with Fijian traditional healers, got married in a rain forest and studied ethno-medicine at the University of California at Berkeley. He swam naked with Allen Ginsberg, dreamed of being the next Lenny Bruce and wrote a rambling novel about a half-mad alter ego. His son's middle name is Goldencloud. For years, he made a name cranking out a pile of books on alternative medicine, recommending bizarre remedies such as using vitamin C to stop AIDS and kicking cocaine with coffee enemas.

Savage, who now decries "propaganda about America being the Land of Immigrants," isn't ashamed of his own immigrant parents. However, his Jewish upbringing is strictly taboo. And he often makes Joseph Lieberman, Barbra Streisand and Larry King the butt of stale ethnic jokes. Brad Kava, radio columnist for the San Jose Mercury News and a longtime Savage critic, thinks Savage's ambivalence toward Jews is a misguided attempt to pander to conservative Christians. "He's Jewish, but he always acts like he's Christian," he says. In his book "The Savage Nation," for example, he complains of an anti-Christian bias in America. When Kava, who is Jewish, "outed" Savage several years ago, Savage reported him to the Anti-Defamation League. Dr. Robert F. Cathcart, a longtime friend of the talk-show star, speculated in a telephone interview that Savage says little about his background so that he appears more "neutral" when he discusses Israel or religious topics.

.............

... According to Stephen Schwartz, who was then a left-wing activist and writer, Weiner carried an unusual letter of introduction. "He had met Allen Ginsberg in Fiji," he recalls. "He had this photograph of himself swimming naked with Ginsberg."

47. Send Savage the voting fraud info!
Hey, other Reps have been "saved" -- just look at Arnebeck.
If he gets mad enough, he might actually cover the cheating on the air. Point out to him in the letter how rigging an election, intimidating voters and breaking other laws, then lying about it, reflects poorly on the Republican party. Honest, God-fearing Republicans should not in good conscience support such dishonest actions, and should urge the media to cover this issue--and their Reps in Congress to denounce the corruption within their own party.

He has his 3rd book coming out in April. He is actually asking for help from the public for it:
http://www.paulreveresociety.com/savagesolutions.html

It sounds like it is even worse than his previous 2 books.

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1595550062/qid=1102409168/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/102-5448988-3870500?v=glance&s=books

I expect it to have a hard time selling more than 100K (out of a 250K printing) for his second book. It never got above 7 on the NYT list and hung out quite a bit in the lowest 5-10 spots.
