2. I didn't support Dean in the primary
but that was only because he was from the northeast and I thought that there was no way he could win. After watching his spirited campaign and getting to know more about him I support him getting the DNC spot. We need a populist who can dish it out as well as take it. I agree with other posters who say, "Its time to call in the doctor."

4. Since we know Dean won't get it, I say anyone from the
Clinton administration - the last DULY ELECTED President- is probably the better choice.
Thank you for not including Donna Brasile, who I wish would just run off with Karl Rove somewhere.

5. I think she has said she wasn't interested
which is why I didn't include her.

6. Are those truly the choices? I don't doubt your research but how
did this group come about? Is it all about having enough name recognition and identity as a Democrat that just saying you're interested gets you on the list? Can the 400 or so voters just get together and pick whoever?

Ah, I just read your qualifier, "the names most commonly floated", so it isn't an official declare candidacy and campaign, you gotta have some Q factor.

OK, that still leaves my last question open, since the field is quite fluid, the voters could come up with anyone really, right?

I need to do some research on all of this...

8. there was a list on Kos
that contained these as the most commonly mentioned names. I don't doubt there are others but only so many can be put in one poll.

7. I still think Howard Dean is the best choice.
The Dem Party needs someone who is intelligent, personable, quick witted, knowledgeable on the issues, and willing to work hard to support electable candidates.

Each of the candidates has one or more of these attributes, but none of the others have all of them.

I can't tell you how many times I cringed when Terry appeared on TV with his oh so politically correct statements.

I also think HOward has that illusive perception of honesty and straight talk. That is very popular on both sides of the aisle and sure would be a nice contrast to the Pub BS!

10. Dean wants it for all the right reasons.....
...unfortunately that may not be good enough for the powers that be.

I supported Edwards in the primary, but I enjoyed Dean and Kucinich too!
