Cheney says Iraq is a disaster because of Saddam
Cheney Thought Iraq Would Recover Quickly

WASHINGTON - Vice President Dick Cheney said Thursday that he overestimated the pace of Iraq's recovery from the U.S.-led invasion because he didn't realize the lasting devastation wrought by Saddam Hussein on his people after the first Gulf War.

Asked to name his mistakes in planning the war in Iraq, Cheney said he had not anticipated how long it would take the Iraqis to begin running their own country. Not until after Saddam was ousted did the United States realize the extent of the Iraqi leader's brutality in putting down revolt in 1991, Cheney said.

I'm pretty nimble, but don't think my mind can make that many leaps of logic in two paragraphs. :wtf:

It is also what they say. And before our first war they lived better. Course than as now they have to worry about some ones military blowing them up.

4. I can very well understand his feelings.
Why, just last week my 1974 Yugo blew a head gasket, the transmission exploded and the rear end lock up on top of the fact that all the wheel bearings burned up. I "estimated" that the damage was minor and a trip down to the local auto parts store (with a $20.00 bill) would be just the ticket to fix everything up.

6. It must be Saddam's fault this is going badly.
Not that leaving Iraq's borders unsecured or not securing ammo dumps or nuclear facilities would have anything to do with this. Or that the US is less than careful when blowing up cities or breaking down doors. Or that we've excluded some groups from voting in the upcoming elections.

If Hussein had just done the honorable thing and shot himself 20 years ago, we wouldn't be in this mess.

Who the fuck believes this shit anyway?

8. Gee, Dick
You'd guess forbidding US interference with Saddam's troops and attack choppers would result in a good bit of carnage. Next time you're shaving, ask the SecDef why he supported such a dumbass move.

9. Yes. Shock and Awe was really a building contract
And all those buildings we dropped on Iraq were not enough to make Iraqis happy, because Saddam had destroyed most of the country.

Soooo, Halliburton will have to spend a LOT more money than we originally thought to re-build Iraq.

I think I am losing my fucking mind. Thank gawd I didn't hear him say that.....I'm sorry I read it here.

14. This is exactly what they've been doing to us now for over 15 years.
Blaming others for their mistakes; and creating chaos to distract from their real wicked machinations.
