Will at least one Democratic Party leader please wake up?
Why is it that Republicans always beat us to the punch with strong PR ccampaigns?

For example, as we speak, we are letting them steal what should've been our next mantra: "Let Freedom Ring". Six months ago, my wife told me that we Democrats should use that exact mantra all during the election campaign in light of what's gone on the last 4 years with more and more of our civil liberties being shit upon. On top of that, with what happened in the past election, we could've used the opportunity even now to make "freedom" our cause, not theirs. Instead, our party is once again sitting on its hands and wasting a glorious opportunity because they are so goddamn unorganized. Now Bush is using what should've been OUR mantra.

It's still not too late, though. Bush is using the "freedom" thing to further his corrupt foreign policy, while he stifles us here at home. If our Democratic leaders wake to fuck up, they can make the phrase "Let Freedom Ring" become our DOMESTIC theme. Not that I have any freakin hope they'll realize this.

1. We don't have a central unifying Dem leader at the moment. The Repukes do
Assuming Dean gets the DNC Chair, that could change as Dean would lead a grassroots effort along with the DNC infrastructure to attack the Repukes, but alas, we'll have to wait until Feb to find out which direction the DNC members want to go: with Dean and to future victories or with the other candidates and more future losses.

6. With Dr.Dean, the change will come
...almost overnight. Howard Dean's ability to galvanize the activists, young people, progressives, etc. is unrivalled. The Democratic Party should adopt his "scream" as a badge of honor. Shout loud. Shout proud. It's the sound a general makes before he leads his army into battle. The party needs a leader for 2006. As everyone has already mentioned, you can't go into those races without a national campaign.

And, remember, Gingerich's 'Conservative Revolution' was made manifest at the mid-terms. First The House. Then THAT HOUSE.

4. You & the previous poster are right, but how much organization can it
take to jump on what's obvious and use it for ourselves so they CAN'T use it? We really are way behind, aren't we.

5. MSM sucks, but we can't blame it on that
All it takes is for our spokespeople to stand up and say the right things, the catchy phrases, or even the nasty stuff. Say the right things and the media will jump all over it. We say nothing, so what's the media supposed to do?

8. We Have and They Haven't
All it takes is for our spokespeople to stand up and say the right things, the catchy phrases, or even the nasty stuff. Say the right things and the media will jump all over it.

That was true in the old days, but not anymore.
Now they report whatever Karl tells them to.

Nothing will change that except a change of *ownership*.
