Clark will win New Mexico I predict
We have been calling people who requested absentee ballots here in New Mexico. Out of just over 800 people who requested absentee ballots that were talked to 408 voted for Clark. Undecided was 174. That means Clark is getting well over 50% of the absentee vote here. The Albuquerque Tribune just endorsed him as well. In Arizona Clark is running first ahead of Dean and Kerry and Edwards are in the 3 or 4 percent mark pre Iowa.

1. Yes. The governor of New Mexico was interviewed last night

after the SOTU, and he said that Clark is leading in polls there.

I expect Clark to do great in the Sun Belt. He's going to take quite a few southern states, too.

2. Clark could do very well on Feb 3rd
he could win OK, AZ, NM and SC all in one day, HOWEVER, if he slips to third in NH, I could see him losing momentum in those states. Right now, Clark needs a 2nd place finish in NH, no matter who finishes first.

5. Clark Does Not Need 2nd Place In NH

He needs to place in the top three - but he cannot be third by a large spread.

3. Clark should aim for winning every feb 3 state except Delaware and ND
Edited on Wed Jan-21-04 08:09 PM by Bombtrack
(north dakota)

He has won polls in Arizona and New Mexico, and South Carolina, and he does well in Oklahoma polls.

Considering he's from a nieghboring state as Missouri, he needs to milk that as well

deviding his resources between 5 states will be difficult, but he's smart enough and his people are smart enough to do it

Is He Weak in ND?
I thought ND had a big native American population, which appears to be breaking in Clark's favor.

11. Oh, I Agree
I was just wondering if he was especially weak there or something.

I hope he can pull out ND, along with all the other states you mention. :-)

7. Who is Kerry and Edwards?
Here in New Mexico if you don't follow politics you would not even know Kerry and Edwards were running. No ads yet? They just seem like some guys from Waaaaaay back East. Out here Clark is a superstar! The locals are really responding to him. All kinds of Hispanics have endorsed him as well.

6. Clark could dominate those states.

Kerry is low on money, and Dean and Gephardt self-destructed on each other.

It depends on how well Kerry and Clark do. If Clark slips to fourth and Kerry is in first in NH, I would be skeptical of a Clark NM win.

12. I predict you're right.
He's tied for the lead now.
I just watched Clark at a NH town hall meeting.
He's amazing. He gets better every time I see him.
Amazing.

13. Clark received the Albuquerque Tribune endorsement!
I wasn't aware of that... thanks, Quixote!

That's his first newspaper endorsement, as far as I know. Thanks for the good news!
