Who voted for IWR and Patriot act doesnt matter ....
Edited on Wed Jan-21-04 08:02 PM by corporatewhore
I t matters what who is going to do something about it and how they are going to be different than bush. The military, vet, military family vote is huge. My experiences with Veterans for Peace (i have worked with many putting together protests)Military Families Speak Out is that we want our loved ones home (my own dad is gonna be redepoled thats why iam such i die hard kucinich fan)andor some one who will have a clear exit strategy that will lessen the risk and show a clear alternative to bush. The cannidates who did vote IWR should express some kind of apology and show some kind of repentance(america loves it when a person can admit they were wrong)
Now the (un)PATRIOT ACT is also crucial because alot of rightys are angry with bush over this gov't increasing civil rights shredding monster who i think we could win over with this issue if we show a clear course of action to getting rid of it.Again humility is a good idea.

1. why should we believe them if they voted for it?
Why should we believe them when they say they want to change it if they voted for it?

3. You can tell a candidates truthfulness by several factors...
On a scale of one to ten:
Rate the quality of a candidates hair-do.
Rate the whiteness of their teeth.
How monotone is their speaking style?

Add up the totals and then divide by their height. The person with the lowest number is the most truthful.

2. What matters is that we don't treat Iraq like its the last
...significant challenge to our ethics.

Which means candidates likely to create another IRW situation are out of the question in my book. If they can support it once and make excuses, they can do it again.

Sorry Kerry supporters.

6. At Least Joe Lieberman Stands By His Votes for IWR and Patriot !
And doesn't try to weasle out of it. I don't approve of the vote, but admire his honesty in not trying to run away from it.

In this sense, Joe Lieberman gets more respect from me than Kerry here.

7. Yup
At least Lieberman sticks to his guns instead of trying to blow smoke up everyone's ass.

8. I can not agree.
In the lead up 2 the IWR vote, constituents contacting their reps opposed it. I begged both my senators to oppose it. I sent emails and places telephone calls 2 senators outside my state because it was a national issue. Democrats voting in support of this administration do not get my support or my primary vote. Sorry, it really IS that important!

10. So did I contact my senators.
One voted for it (Cantwell), and one, bless her, voted against it. Patty Murray is facing election this year and had the courage to vote her conscience rather than political expediency. She'll be getting my full backing with $$, my vote, and the votes of anyone else I can convince.

Kerry, Edwards and Lieberman will not get my vote. Period. Not now, not ever.

16. I agree to trying to relay info from fellow military families after i
had a chat w/them.They told me that their main concern is to bring their loved ones home safely .A couple of them like kucinich just on his stance on bringing them home. Some of them like kerry or clark over dean because they feel (not me ) that they would have a better plan to get their family members home(again not my opinion
