4. Oh, geez
Check this out on where the party went wrong.

"When the congressional Democrats pulled the plug on aid to our allies in southeast Asia in the 1970s, a contingent of anti-Communist "Scoop" Jackson Democrats crossed the aisle in protest and became Republicans - an act for which they were labeled 'neo-conservatives.'"

Were those the same Democrats who crossed aisle because of the civil rights movement? I'll bet he includes Strom Thurmond in that group.

Am I wrong?

7. Something preventing you from doing your own research?
You asked a yes or no question, based on a false premise, which I answered. The 'Scoop Jackson' Democrats and the 'Dixiecrats' were two different groups. If you don't believe me, fine. Meaning no disrespect, you are welcome to look it up for yourself.

10. Sounds like they're trying to head off "neocon" attacks
at the pass. Maybe they can rationalize the switch, but I wonder if Mr. Horowitz would like to explain to BoDean Republican about how the intellectual right-wing Straussians think he's a fucking idiot and will eat all the shit they can shovel.

Bend over, BoDean.

9. HO-LEE-SHIT
That is the most fucking hilarious thing that I've ever seen. What is with this guy? This is ABSOLUTELY NUTS.

I think now is as good a time as any to re-hash the Suskind quote:

In the summer of 2002, after I had written an article in Esquire that the White House didn't like about Bush's former communications director, Karen Hughes, I had a meeting with a senior adviser to Bush. He expressed the White House's displeasure, and then he told me something that at the time I didn't fully comprehend -- but which I now believe gets to the very heart of the Bush presidency.

The aide said that guys like me were ''in what we call the reality-based community,'' which he defined as people who ''believe that solutions emerge from your judicious study of discernible reality.'' I nodded and murmured something about enlightenment principles and empiricism. He cut me off. ''That's not the way the world really works anymore,'' he continued. ''We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality -- judiciously, as you will -- we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors . . . and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do.''

- Ron Suskind "Without a Doubt"

God damn I wish Michael Foucault was alive. This, coupled with the locked post on "the Democratic Party losing black support," is just so goddamn unbelieveable that, well, I hardly believe it.

We live in very interesting times. Populated by all kinds of loonies.

13. nothing like the knowledge/power coupling to create some good
old fashioned counter-memory to discipline the masses. Plato forgot to warn us about the shadowmaker and the Prince standing in for the philosopher king.

12. Hey My University made the list! Yippeee!
I think I'm going to submit Jesus as a name to be investigated (see link "submit name" on their homepage). That guy was a liberal stooge wasn't he. ;-) Then perhaps I'll submit my own name for indoctrinating young minds after that. It'll be fun.
