Imus has been asking "how about that homo in the WH" to his
reporter quests this morning.
Graig Crawford says he has been trying to get a WH press pass for a long time and has been unable to do this.

2. Much as I want Gannon to be the catalyst for the loss of face of the *
administration, references to 'that homo' are not going to be helpful in the long run.

10. It links Bush to a homo.....
Let me say it again..it LINKS Bush to a homo.

That subtle jab calling him a homo and him having 'special treatment' in the White House will gnaw at the Christian Right...just like the little comments about Clinton in the 90s did.

12. "that homo"

It also gives his listeners the idea that referring to gay men as "those homos" is perfectly acceptable and normal.

Sorry. Those of you who think that playing up Gannon's sexual orientation is fun, amusing, or helpful to our cause are just plain wrong.

18. It's funny because he's so right-wing.
It's like that Dave Chapelle where the black man is the leader of the KKK (blind; grew up thinking he was white). When it came out that the leader of the KKK was black, everyone went nuts. It was FUNNY!

Exact same shit here.

A right-wing fascist is gay.

FUNNY! :D

14. actually, I think it goes pretty far with some folks - he is not just gay,
or bi -- he is a pursuer of an agressive fetishy lifestlye. Tops, bottoms, posting naked photos, paid sex. Also, it has to infuriate others in the press that just sat there and did not get to ask questions while this paid freaky shill got the limelight.

3. The GE/Imus show strategy is to "make fun" ... not bring up the
serious aspect of propaganda and corruption.

4. If you remember back...
It was comments like these that gave the Clinton imbroglio legs and life. The asides, if you will. The snark.

8. Agreed. It's Classic Rove
The "whisper campaign" of Rove brought down many of the blivet's opponents. For all those who were "morally outraged" about Clinton's "indiscretion" - this should be rather appealing. Or at least fun to watch.

5. He's doing better today--his wife must have put him on notice
Now Craig Crawford is comparing John Negroponte to Mr. Burns, Homer Simpson's boss!!!

Ahhh, the gloves are finally coming off, the emperor is seen as wearing no clothes...

About damn time.

6. I heard the Crawford comment too...
..."it's my job to cover the WH for the Congressional Quarterly" after mentioning he hasn't been able to get credentialed.

7. "Sorry, Mr. Crawford, but until you let us know the size of your
joint, our policy is to deny credentials."

Hey, all those around here who complain that women are still given short shrift--in a way, the same thing is happening to men, in this Gannon/Guckert story. It's just another added bonus! (Bonus? Oops.)

I bet they're pissed off. I know if I was a reporter and had been trying for a few years now I'd be pissed off at this guy. He got in super fast.

19. Bingo! That's the story....our concern?
...I still say there should be an investigation for a WH security breach?

Day passes for 2 years? Shouldn't there be a limit on those before a full background investigation is required? A simple credit check ?

And, why aren't more "real" journalists pissed off about this? It's their job for heaven's sake.

17. so they can be called a jerk minutes after they leave the studio
IMUS: "What a jerk, what a weasel..."

SID: "Boy, I-Man - did you see those junglebunnies run last night at that Pacers game? Boy, I-Man - I sure am a racist little weasel."

IMUS: "Shut up. Shut up. 5 past the hour (muffled garbage) on the Imus in the Morning program..."

(cue stale Blues lick, cut to commercial.)

20. ....or republicans?
He's an evil hardballer to both. I'm pretty sure it's all an "act" since it's a drive time show, people stuck in traffic are pretty cranky to begin with.

Not defending Imus, but he does have that summer program (Imus Ranch) for sick kids, he can't be that bad!
