Dean collects nearly $600,000 in donations since Iowa

NEDRA PICKLER, Associated Press Writer

(01-21) 18:52 PST MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) --

Democratic presidential candidate Howard Dean has raised $590,000 since his damaging Iowa loss, his campaign reported Wednesday night.

He isn't the only candidate to turn their performance in Iowa into new campaign money. Sens. John Kerry and John Edwards, who finished one-two in that state's precinct caucuses, each took in tens of thousands of dollars over their Web sites within hours of the voting.

Kerry, of Massachusetts, challenged donors to help him raise $365,000 over the Internet on Tuesday and met the goal by day's end. Edwards, of North Carolina, raised at least $250,000 online by Tuesday evening.

Dean's new money, most of it raised on the Internet, may help him recover in Tuesday's New Hampshire primary, but also could be used to buy advertising and boost his candidacy in later states while he focuses attention here.

1. another $25
Dean will be getting another $25 from me on the 30th, putting my total for Dean at a whopping $50. My goal is to have contributed $200 towards this election, $100 for my primary choice and $100 for the nominee. Though, after the recent 'family warfare' that second $100 may stay in my pocket, especially if it would be going to Clark.

I believe in the Dean campaign as being more than getting one person in office. I honestly hope that the Dean machine exists beyond this election and becomes a poltical force of its own.

3. another Dean donation here too..
At least 25 and if I can it will be 50. I've already sent 80$ before.
I think the man is wonderful and VERY electable and capable to do the job. His spontaneous speech was inspring and exiting and REFRESHING. Kerry puts me to sleep...he's so boring. After he signed his responsibility away to Bush to go kill people,I have lost faith he can do the right thing when he's tested politically. Clark is a good man but Im not sure I want a General as President. He'd be better than Kerry though.
Dean shows the courage of his convictions and does what's best for the PEOPLE. I will stand with Howard through to the end of the fight.

Dean's Statement on Roe vs. Wade Anniversary

LEBANON, NH— “Thirty one years ago, the Supreme Court recognized that American women have a constitutional right to control their own bodies. But the right to choose hangs in the balance of the 2004 election. If George W. Bush gets to appoint even one anti-choice justice to the Court, the era of safe, legal abortion in the United States will end.

“As a family doctor, a Board Member of my local Planned Parenthood and Governor of Vermont, I have worked my entire adult life to promote women’s health. If elected President I will defend the right to reproductive privacy and fight to keep politics out of medicine.”

5. Maybe not to the media right now
They are too busy trying to get Bush elected and attacking anyone who gets in the way of that to notice.
It sure made ME feel better though. Thanks

4. You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear...
No matter how much money is raised, people are going to
look at character, leadership temperment, and issues.

If it is just a money game, Bush will win.

We need to remember that.
