I am constantly amazed at the lack of brain power on the right. Morals is as Morals does.

However, some are known to mate for life.

5. Michael Schiavo is in a tough
situation and has been trying to do the right thing by his wife.

That's no reason he shouldn't be able to have a life.

He stayed married to her so he could be her legal guardian ..he really is an amazing person, imo.

I'm not sure why you're bringing Clinton in on this?

9. braindead is braindead
it means that you are henceforth known as "organ donor"

I wish everyone would drop the subject. The lady fails the "19th century/third world" test: if she were in the 19th century or a third-world country, she would have been in the ground for 15 years. Period. Let her die and get over it.

11. No, becaused they are not braindead (we hope)
If a person is functional and simply needs help from modern medicine, say a pill or shot, that is fine. But if a body with flat-line brain waves is kept alive only by a machine, time to pull the plug.

There is a difference between being kept alive and living. That, in essence, was my grandmother's wish, and in the end she refused to eat. We could have had her hooked up to machines, but it was against her wishes. She died in peace in her bed in the care home.

16. Your test doesn't mention brain death
it only mentions what would have happened in the 19th century. In the 19th century most diabetics would have been dead at a very early age.

14. If a diabetic has a flat EEG and no cerebral cortex,
they ARE dead and there is no point in keeping the body alive.

15. I was responding to the 19th century test
most diabetics couldn't have survived in the 19th century. That post made no mention of brain death.

17. Lots of us fail that test.
I am kept alive by insulin. Not availible in the 19th century. While I understand what you are trying to say, I still don't like THAT test.
