Senator Lindsey Graham hit by TV ads from the "Club for Growth"
Edited on Wed Mar-30-05 12:16 AM by LastDemocratInSC
I'm no fan of Lindsey Graham for many reasons, not the least of which is his role as a participant in the proceedings against President Bill Clinton. He has, however, recently broken from the Republican position on Social Security by meeting with Democratic Party leaders and later saying that he opposes *'s private accounts scam.

He is now being attacked by the "Club for Growth". This is a right-wing think tank in Washington. They are now plastering our state with television ads against Graham for his position on Social Security.

I don't like Lindsey Graham and didn't vote for him but he came from humble beginnings in a small town near me. I do think that he understands the role of Social Security in the lives of small-town America and will fight for that.

Good for him. I hope he learns the larger lessons in time.

Here's a link to one of the groups sponsoring TV attacks against him:

2. Can't say I'm surprised...
his own party would chew him up for cavorting with the Dems. Yep, I knew they would put Graham on their hit list.

3. Cool, I like it when Graham tantrums. This will set one off for sure.
And rightfully so. Just a little hint here, the retired population of SC is farking huge. There is no way Graham could have done anything different on SS than he did. He'd be insane. The ads will do nothing to hurt him in SC and will piss him off. Folks from that state tend to hold a grudge. Too bad for the Hair Club for Growth.

5. The Club for Growth reminds me of certain members here on DU
Unfortunately, they are in power and we are not.
