Here is her letter:
Thank you for writing me to express your opposition to
Undersecretary of State John R. Bolton's nomination to be U.S.
ambassador to the United Nations. I appreciate the time you took to
write.
Like you, I have some serious concerns about Mr. Bolton's
qualifications to be U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, especially
as
Mr. Bolton once claimed "there's no such thing as the United Nations,"
and ''if the UN secretary building in New York lost 10 stories, it
wouldn't
make a bit of difference.'' At a time when the Administration claims to
be
reaching out to friends and allies, it troubles me that the President
would
nominate a candidate who has shown little more than contempt for an
organization at which he will represent U.S. interests.
I take the Senate's advise and consent duties seriously and I will
be sure to thoroughly examine Mr. Bolton's record during the
confirmation process. Please know that, as the Senate debates this
nomination, I will be sure to keep your thoughts in mind.
Again, thank you for writing. If you have any further comments,
please contact my office in Washington, D.C. at (202) 224-3841, or

John Bolton's nomination by Rice/Bush is nothing less than a grave insult to the world community. The ultimate bull in China's shop. And they knew it.
He has a history with the UN. It was he who marshalled the successful argument for the repeal of the "Zionism is racism" resolution. Not his only service to Likud Israel. Presumably a Gentile, but more neocon than Pope Perle. He wants a UN in which only one vote counts -that of the US.
I welcome the appointment. Nations will not be deceived by anyone schooled in effete diplomacy. A delegate old enough to remember Ambassador Adlai Stevenson might think that the USA has utterly degenerated. Let Bushism show its true face to the world.
Note Sen. Feinstein's letter to constituents who complained. It says, in effect, I know the guy is a raving nihilist and naked imperialist, but I'm keeping my options open. Poor woman can't make up her mind yet. After all, the alternative to Bolton just might be an actual wild boar.
