Jeb Bush's Domineering Style Chafes Even His Own Camp
Must be genetic.

"It made headlines the other day when Tom Slade, who engineered Gov. Jeb Bush's emergence as a political powerhouse, voiced some of the same criticisms as Bush's Democratic critics, calling him ``arrogant'' and saying he ``does not have the maturity ... and wisdom'' to be president.
Slade, the former state chairman of the Republican Party, only offered for the record what many state Republicans have long said in private.

Bush is a strong and innovative leader. Floridians saw him at his best during the hurricane crisis, when he was both resolute and compassionate. But as Slade told a University of South Florida political scientist who is writing a history of the Florida Republican Party, Bush has a ``dictatorial'' style and does not welcome advice or compromise.

High-handedness has been evident throughout his tenure. A few examples:

* When some GOP lawmakers opposed the governor's plan to limit medical malpractice rewards, he accused them of ``jeopardizing people's access to health care.'' In fact, they only wanted a more reasonable cap on malpractice rewards..."

1. It is genetic
Voters pass amendments and he will wiggle all around it til it comes out the way HE wants it. Has a "devious plan" for everything the voters want. He is a menace.

4. If we could have him be "Governor of Hurricanes" and have
someone else the rest of the time, Floridians would be happy.

5. Jeb is smart enough to be shrewd, but that shrewdness --
-- runs toward the underhanded. The whiff of corrupt business practices just never washes off this guy.

Shrewdly corrupt is his STRONG suit.

In all other aspects of public service he's fiercely mediocre at best and moralistic and manipulative at worst, such as in the Terri Schiavo circus -- a disgraceful performance.

In my perfect world scenario, Jeb's lust for the White House is precluded by a very large and ravenously hungry crocodile somewhere in the Everglades on a night shrouded in vaporous sea mist.

Chomp. Chomp. Chomp.
