Repugs are mighty happy about the IA Caucus
Edited on Fri Jan-23-04 12:17 AM by ariellyn
and that should set off bells and whistles here. Why do you think they are so ecstatic about the results of the IA Caucus and Kerry's upset? Do you think it's because they consider Kerry and the others easier to beat? I do.

Leno's monologue lead was Dean's being beaten. I don't know much about Dean except that he's spoken up against the war and he's been able to generate unprecedented support via the www. I think that he's a serious threat to the right and they are happy he is being sidelined.

I saw Dean's interview tonight with Diane Sawyer, briefly. Mostly I saw his wife Judy. I don't know if he is ready for prime time in some respects. His wife is even frumpier than Pickles. His mannerisms and expressions are a tad bit offputting. But, despite all that, Dean is courageous in that he spoke out when others were more concerned about their political futures. Whether or not he's ready for prime time, it's obvious THEY think he is or the upset wouldn't be such big news.

4. Kerry is electable the way that any of the democrats are better than Bu$h
but he is boring, not really that attractive, and to be honest I really don't like the Skull and Bones stuff, it creeps me out.

He was an experienced senator! He did lots of good legislation! A tribute to his party!Purple heart war hero! Couldn't ask for a better candidate! He's earned the right!
Sheesh.

Dean is a media punching bag.

7. John Kerry is more electable than....
Dean. A Rethug acquaintance said that he wants to see Dean be the nominee because he and the entire party will have a "good old fashion ass kicking".

22. that's what they all say - then why did they try so hard to topple him?
Edited on Fri Jan-23-04 02:35 AM by Woodstock
Seems to me they'd wait until a sure loser got the nomination before blanketing the airwaves/internet with one of the most vicious smear campaigns I've ever seen. Wait until the sure loser is picked as the one to go up against Bush THEN smear.

But they didn't do this, did they? Makes no sense. Unless, perhaps, he really scared the hell out of them, and they lied.

15. The media is going to try to make any of them a punching bag
And honestly, Dean isn't so much a punching bag as he is one of those "Bop it" bags...you know, the ones where you hit it as hard as you can and it won't stay down and just comes right back at ya? That's what Dean is and that's what we need to run against Bush. I don't think any of the others have anywhere near the same level of staying power that Dean has.

3. Of course they are happy about Dean getting a hit, believe it or not he
frightens them more than anyone. If Americans actually knew about the good things he has said and done as opposed to the BS spin that gets hammered into them every god damn day, then Bu$h doesn't have a prayer.

And yeah Kerry is going to be a whole lot easier to beat, I will campaign for himif he got the nomination but I won't talk himup every chance I get, like I would with Dean, Clark, or Edwards.

news or the radio the past week? How is it that O'Neill drops a bombshell about Bush one day and two days later mums the word but Dean gets beaten and it's leading news on every channel for days? There are no "links". I based the assertion on my personal observations.

12. "Observations" or inclinations?
The delight you "cite" was over Dean's psychotic behavior (not saying that's what it was) rather than Kerry handily winning the caucus. Surely you can find a wealth of RW-ers rejoicing over Kerry's victory, since that's what you asserted in your thread.

Nice try, though.

17. I don't know if you consider the Wall Street Journal "right wing"
But THEY were pretty relieved in their editorial section page A14 Tuesday edition. Of course it's in WSJ code so I'll interpret for you:
"
don't worry. Howard Dean isn't the nominee after all. It's one of OUR guys, ie rich and cooperative. They will lose like they should, just like in 2000"

11. Bullshit.
All the Republicans I know have been actively campaigning for Howard Dean.

They call Kerry "John F'n Kerry".

20. No, it's not
The original poster argued from a false premise.

But maybe both republicans AND Iowa Democrats are happy. AND IT LOOKS LIKE NEW HAMPSHIRE DEMOCRATS ARE PRETTY THRILLED BY THE PROSPECT ALSO.
Check out the latest poll numbers (I'll go kick that thread back to the top again)
