The Judiciary and conservative spin
Edited on Sun Apr-10-05 11:54 AM by mapatriot
As we read ongoing articles about a "judiciary out of control" and an "activist judiciary", posted mostly by rightwingnut conservatives, unhappy with recent opinions, it's helpful to remember that the federal judiciary is overwhelmingly dominated by republican appointees.

Of the ten Supreme Court justices, seven are republican appointees. Of the thirteen federal appeals courts, only four have a democrat appointed majority.
What these fools REALLY mean is that they want more religiously doctrinaire christians and extreme conservatives appointed to the federal bench. Let's call a spade a spade!

6. That's a great link
But the figures I get are:

Appointed by Democrats: 43%
Appointed by Republicans: 51.5%
Vacant seats: 5.5%

3. Nutcakes are always impeded by the law. Nutcakes have been
promised heaven by Republicans...in exchange for their vote.

These are the same nutcakes who call the U.S. superior. That means they think everyone else in the world is inferior. They applaud the President who tries to export democracy.

There are only limited things we are superior in. One of the things we have going for us is a well thought out constitution. But, the nutcakes think it is inferior.

Apoligies to almond and pecan cakes. Almond and pecan cakes are godly and there is a sanity to them.
