Chris Dodd taking no guff from Bolton.
Just heard a clip on NPR of Senator Dodd (D-Conn) putting John Bolton in his place. They didn't play the entire transcript, but what little I heard was Dodd in command over a not-very-assertive Bolton. And he caught Bolton in a lie as well, concerning the forced dismissal of a staff member over ideological issues.

It was a nice performance by Chris Dodd. I hope the rest of the questioning went along in a similar vein.

At least one of Connecticut's senators is a great Democrat!

3. And I'd much rather have a street person representing us --
-- at the U.N. than John Bolton.

Bolton does seem a bit worse for the weather, doesn't he?

He needs to arrange a meeting with the Queer Eye for the Straight Guy people, and fast.

The errant offspring of Herrs Kangaroo and Hitler must not be sent to the UN.

2. Three cheers for Dodd, Biden, Boxer and Kerry!
They really went after him! Obama seemed to engaging in a lot of wishful thinking, ascribing views to Bolton that are much more reasonable than the ones he holds in reality. Sarbanes was perfunctory.

15. I think he needs practice
Let him a little time to learn. He is just a very new senator and he was not that great a debater during the campaign. We should not blame him because of the exagerated expectations some people have put in him.

For now, all we know from him is that he is a great speaker, and that he will not be in the left fringe of the Senate (which was clear during his campaign), while still being a solid Democrat.

6. Dodd succeeding in PO me
In his last round of questionning, he said he agreed with Bolton's assessment on the UN and that his problem was only about pressuring intelligence officers.

11. Yes
It seems that the Democrats are all allied against him, even for Nelson who succeeded in accusing Bolton of not doing enough against the dangers Cuba could represent for Florida.

That would be a good thing if all Democrats voted against him, first in comittee, then in a floor vote. I wonder if they can block his nomination with a filibuster this way.

7. YADA YADA YADA....
Unless some Republicans do the right thing this guy will be going to the UN. It is all a horse an pony show. The dems know he is going to get appointed and they can throw grenads at the guy and they are right but in the end the Repubs will do what Dim wit wants. Now is the time for Profiles in courage and the Republicans don't know how to do that. None of them would sacrifice their relationship with Karl Rove to vote against this criminal liar scum bag!
