What will be the result of "Justice Sunday" this weekend?
The hopeful side of me wants there to be a massive audience for this program so the vast majority of religious people in this country can see these charlatans for the treasonous, venomous, anti-Christians they are. Could this possibly be the moment when the flock rises up against its fraudulent shepherds? Will they perhaps see the parallels between the religious fanatics who downed the World Trade Center towers and the ones they see before them, inciting them to violence?

But the pessimisstic side of me fears that too many of those people will respond to the call to arms, that hundreds or thousands of Timothy McVeighs will be awakened and inspired. Will we have a series of federal courts bombed? Judges murdered? In another thread I commented that if you replace the word "liberal" or "Democrat" in their screed with the word "Jew" it sounds like something we've heard in the past. Is it possible that the program, ending with a segment titled "Hanging Judges," will lead to a 21st century Crystallnacht where the homes and businesses of liberals are attacked?

I honestly don't know what to expect. I suspect that maybe too much is being made of this and it will pass without event. I have noticed that no churches or organizations in my area are scheduled to air the broadcast. Maybe this will be nothing more than a blip on the radar?

1. I'm going to say blip
These people way overestimate their power and impact. They will get their groups frothing mad, of course. But that's about it.

2. I don't know really
My suspicion is they are preaching to the choir and the MSM won't give it much more than passing coverage so that uninvolved non-radical right Christians won't really know much about it.

It is planned for the First day of Passover, when observant Jews are pretty much out of the loop too. Whether that was intentional or not is hard to say since somehow I doubt Tom DeLay knows anything about Jewish holidays except that we don't have Santa and the Easter Bunny and Jesus and therefore, can't possibly be Americans anyway.

3. Wake up
The homes, property, and businesses of liberals have already been attacked. Individuals have been fired, assaulted, raped, and murdered. Think I'm kidding? People were fired and assassinated during the first Gulf War for speaking out against it.
If the level of violence against progressives escalates, there will be retaliation of an equal or greater standard of violence.

4. Maybe they'll run out and burn some judges at the stake
like they did the 'witches' of yore.

Fucking birdbrains, pumped up on holier-than-thou claptrap from the likes of Dobson and DeLay (that's French isn't it?) are capable of atrocities.

5. I think the bad stuff will happen first since they are preaching to that
crowd, then the good side will take place as normal, everyday folks actually realize how radical these folks calling themselves Christians really are. But I don't see the normal people applying it to themselves before something else (on top of Shiavo) goes really off the deep end first - too many snug in their worlds still who don't think that the bad things can happen to them.

6. Backlash
Sooner or later the public at large will get sick of all the religious BS.

The pendulum always swings the other way once it reaches an extreme. Maybe this will be a sign of that extreme or maybe it'll trigger the loony/violence some of you are predicting. In any case, I predict it hastens the move the other way.

8. Maybe our old pal Jeff Gannon can cover the event
I'm sure he'd be welcomed there with open arms.
