1. Save our Courts from Religious ACTIVISM,
Edited on Mon Apr-25-05 01:54 PM by patrice
aferall, that's what the church cartels are complaining about isn't it? - activism . . . ?

So why are we to trust what appears to be a bunch of hypocrits, to decide so much for so many, when that is the very thing they (pretend) to be complaining about judges doing. I say pretend because the real point of the whole thing is their Power. This is the impulse of fascism.

Here's some activism for you: Study who does business with whom and selling what inside the christian cartel(s) in our country.

Doing business at "church"? That's profane, where I come from.

Thanks for the link! I'll be there.

MoveOnPAC to sponsor Gore’s first major political speech of 2005

From GNN

The New York Times reports that Al Gore will speak out against the GOP’s “nuclear option”, a proposed Senate rule change which would prevent filibusters against radical right wing judicial nominees, on Wednesday, April 27, 2005 in Washington, D.C. Gore's address, which is sponsored by MoveOnPAC, will come on what could be the eve of Republican Senate Leader Bill Frist's move to change the Senate rules, and it will be the keynote of MoveOn’s national day of action, which includes 120 rallies in all 50 states.

According to an email sent to MoveOn.org members in the Washington area, Gore’s speech is called “Breaking the Rules to Destroy Our Courts”. In the speech, Gore will reportedly say “This is a poison pill for American democracy. It is aimed at one-party dominance of all three branches of government, and the end of meaningful debate in the U.S. Senate.

This may sound like a technical issue. But it is actually a historic threat to the health and vitality of American democracy.

This is an effort to replace persuasion on the merits with bullying by partisan domination.”

The speech will be presented at 12 noon, ET and the location will be announced on Monday, April 25th.

****

Update: location will be 400 New Jersey Avenue, NW (between D and E Streets on New Jersey Ave, NW), Washington D.C.
