Vigilantes unite! "The Castle Doctrine" signed by Jeb

Is anyone else as horrified by this bill as I am??? On the one hand, it will eventually help someone who is truely being threatened, but I think there is going to be a rash of "innocent" killings by ones who say there were attacked but it was really a matter of revenge.

What do you think?

1. Bang bang you're dead, red necks in Florida will deliberately...
...be leaving their doors and windows unlocked and open hoping to be able to exercise their right to use lethal force

2. As a pro-Second Amendment dem
I would like to gently remind you that gun-related deaths seem to be greatest in jurisdictions with strict controls (e.g., Washington DC) rather than where there are fewer restrictions (e.g., Vermont).

4. So what are you saying?
The more you leave the barn door open, the less likely the cows are to roam?

IMHO, whether the laws are strict or not, I feel that the state of Florida is going to run into a huge controversy over this. And one of the freepers had the gall to say that he thinks this will cross over to other states.

10. What I'm saying is
that allowing people to exercise their right of self defense acts as a deterrent to violence, so this "blood in the streets" hysteria is just that == hysteria

7. I've little problem with it.
Still allows the gun averse to retreat if possible, but also allows one to defend those who are retreating. Or stand your ground and make the intruder retreat.

As laws in many states exist today, if a thief enters your house with a gun, you are required by law to retreat if at all possible. The result? Many thieves SEEK OUT guns, as having one makes their job easier. It encourages thieves to arm themselves, increasing risks to victims.

8. I just don't like the idea that anyone could be shot on the street.
Of course, I've never been the victim of a crime, so maybe that's why I take this stance. I could have a different opinion if someone tried to rape me or steal my car.

9. I think outside home events are most likely to be troublesome.
Coming into a house with a gun is one thing. A street encounter is another. Agreed.
