CNN poll: 86% say Kerry has personality they want in a president.
Edited on Fri Jan-23-04 03:34 PM by blm
That is HUGE. The next was Clark at 76% which is still very huge.

This is great because that is how the general electorate first sees these men and they contrast WELL with Bush.

Not just NH.

14. According to the CNN graphic, it was a NH Poll.
I froze the graphic on my screen, using my trusty Tivo, and at the bottom of the graphic, it said "Likely New Hampshire Democratic Primary Voters."

So, this poll reflects the opinions of NH Dem Primary Voters only. It's not a national poll, and Republicans were not polled.

That kind of changes the significance of the results vis-a-vis the November General Election. :-)

15. Oh...the graphic they used was the one they use for national polls.
Fooled me. Thanks for the clarification.

2. Clark and Kerry are NOT the exciting candidates that Dean and...
Edwards are (especially Howard Dean), but they are calm, reassuring, and professional. People value these traits in these uncertain times!

3. I'll take it
Sure, I still want Dean to get the nomination, but I'd take Kerry or even Edwards in a flash. Kerry supporters must be very happy with these results. Congratulations.

8. Wow!
the favorable/unfavorable figures are some of the most important in polling. And most agree, when Americans choose a President, they usually vote for the person not the policies.

10. I find it hard to believe that Dean is less popular than Lieberman.
:wtf: is this. Lieberman's moralizing EVERTHING is a major turn-off.

Right after excessive negative reporting on Dean's Tuesday rally. I mean excessive!

9. LOL: it is difficult to know your best friend's "personality"
and people are giving answers about candidates they've seen on TV a few times... Another smart poll...

18. Edwards is right behind Clark at 75% - cool!
I'm just happy about the bounce he's getting lately, even if I don't primarily support him.

I do wonder what qualities people are considering when they evaluate "the personality they want in a president" -- I'm sure there are wide-ranging definitions here.

19. Personality is not going to cut it. What are we- republicans?
A lot of dems are talking about Kerry as being "electable," "presidential," and now we hear that they like his personality. Wow. I guess issues don't matter. Besides, Kerry is not electable because he is Bush-lite and Dean-lite. He is a total politician who will do or say whatever it takes to get elected. If democrats nominate him we will have only ourselves to blame for our loss in 2004 and the continuing sorry state of america.

20. Guess you don't know that Kerry exposed more government corruption
than any lawmaker in modern history.

He is WAY left of Dean whose record is the closest to Bush of ANY of the candidates, including Lieberman.

Sounds like (maybe) a good thing. Anyway, this poll is a huge sign that Kerry has a fantastic chance of being the next Prez.
