1. Trent Lott
I would think his infamous remarks at Strom Thurmond's birthday party will hurt his chances for reelection in his southern state.

5. Actually, he vacated his senate seat in 2004...
And Republican Johnny Isakson was elected in his place. I think the seat here was a de facto Republican seat with Zell Miller in office anyway.

6. Frist isn't running for reelection...

I believe he's vacating his Tennessee seat for a possible presidential run in 2008. From what I hear, Representative Harold Ford (D) is very popular and is running for senate next year. Maybe we can pick up that seat!

7. Jim Talent

Keep an eye on Ensign and DeWine- they're not as safe as the other side imagines.

Olympia Snowe might retire, there being a bunch of health problems. Arlen Specter has Hodgkin's lymphoma, John McCain isn't looking real healthy either.

They're aging out a bit on the other side.

8. Texas (Bailey) will be open if she runs for Gov.
So that's pretty cool...Martin Frost is thinking about running.

How sweet would that be, Frost wins Senate, DeLay loses, and Bell beats Bailey for Gov.
