George Allen (R-VA) sticks his foot in his mouth
...and his head up his ASS! Talk about FODDER to be used against him!!!!! http://www.sundaymorningtalk.com/smt/2005/05/sen_allen_sell_.html

Senator George Allen (R-VA) may have gotten in a bit over his head, this morning, on Meet the Press. On private accounts, he suggested that Americans might have to sell their homes to survive in retirement. But, that would be a good thing, because they wouldn't have to trim hedges and cut grass, he noted.

In fact, he was trying to reassure people who are uncomfortable about investing in the stock market with private accounts. So, he recognized that those who do, might reduce their retirement savings in the event of a market downturn (I hear those happen once in awhile). But, he thinks allowing your own home to be your investment would get around that. Although, it would force you to sell it when you retire in order to feed yourself.

Then, he said he didn't support President Bush's plan to cut benefits for the middle class, quickly trying to back out of it.

I love these GOP assholes. Shit, if they restrict access to birth control and abortion, won't these geezers be needing those big houses to raise the grandkids of those who get up the pole at an early age, to say nothing of the kids of the dead who served in Iraq and Afghanistan? And won't those kids be happy to trim those hedges and mow that lawn to help grammy and gramps out?

Clueless, stupid bastard. He is as much as saying that geezers do not have the RIGHT to stay in their homes anymore. Already, in Massachusetts, under Mitt the Shit Romney, they have shitcanned the "circuit breaker" protection for a large percentage of geezers by limiting the value of the homes that qualify for it. Thus, if gramma and gramps bought their house for $25K, have lived in it all their lives, but because of insane prices, it is now valued at $490K, they don't get the circuit breaker tax rebate--which is about eight or nine hundred bucks, to help with their taxes.

Fucking assholes! I cannot STAND the GOP...they disrespect the old, the poor, the weak and the defenseless...simply because they CAN.

That is one reason that the more Bush** talks the better off we are. They are idiots and assholes, we need the assholes who are off the chart idiots out there speaking more.

In a Bush economy, you can't depend on anything retaining its value. Even the money under the mattress is not safe. It can be erroded by high inflation.

19. Don't blame me
I told everyone in 2000 not to vote for ANYONE named GEORGE. I wanted to put up a sign, "Don't vote for George, George can't handle the job."

I thought it would apply to both sons of Georges running that year, but unfortunately both namesakes of previously famous Georges won.
In both cases, I think name recognition added to their votes.

(Let's run Ron Reagan for something.)

17. He could be the Presidential candidate in 08.
George Allen is the son of former Redskin Head Coach George Allen. He is a former Governor of VA and a first term Senator. He is up for re-election in 2006.

I want him to lose.

I don't think he has ever lost anything in his life. Silver Spoon, smirk boy has had everything he has ever wanted. He has no concept of how real people live. He is a neo-con in the tradition of George Bush.

The only person I think can beat Allen in the 2006 election is current Governor Mark Warner. Warner's term ends in January and in the Commonwealth of Virginia, a Governor cannot serve consecutive terms.

Mark Warner is one of the best Governors we have had lately. He has been able to work with a dominant Republican State assembly and has managed to get some positive bills passed. Mark Warner was not responsible for some of the stupid bills you have heard proposed in this state. He has had to compromise, but he hasn't stooped that low.

Because of Gov. Warner, Virginia is ranked one of the best managed states in the union. He has had to make cuts due to the federal cuts imposed by Bushco, but he has managed to keep the state in good working order.

We need to get George Allen out of the Senate. If Allen stays in office he will only get stronger. We have to stop him NOW!!! if we don't he may get put into a higher office and none of us wants George Allen to have that much power over normal, working people. He has no idea what life is like for real people. He shouldn't make laws for us.

32. That is why he has to go! -- DNC, please help us!!
Edited on Mon May-02-05 04:02 AM by Virginian
He has to be defeated in 06. If not, the neo-cons will run him as their puppet when smirk is done.
With the government controlled by PNAC, the President does not have to be smart. He just needs to fall in line and do as they tell him. The people behind the scenes will take care of everything else.

Please DNC - put some effort into getting rid of this guy!!! He is not good for our state, he is not good for our nation.

So, the neo-con attitude is, "The world is for children especially if they are not yet born and the elderly can just go live in cardboard boxes." Well, that will fix both the Medicare and Social Security problem. With Allen's plan, they can kill off all the old people so the young don't have to concern themselves with the welfare of their elders. But no euthanasia, let the elderly die of natural causes --like freezing to death.

Allen just irks me to no end. But at least now he has exposed the neo-cons' real solution to the Social security "problem".

24. We Interrupt this Thread for Late Breaking Sen Allen News!!!!!!
In a move considered sheer genius by the financial community, Virginia Senator George Allen (R-Fuckwad) today inked a deal sure to net him millions. The Senator, after providing seniors with financial advice on the sale of their homes to fund their pitiful little retirements for their worthless, wrinkly, saggy asses, today cornered the market on cardboard refrigerator boxes.

The plan is to sell the boxes as 'affordable housing' to those seniors who willingly agree to sell their nest eggs to the highest bidders. Allen was heard to say he plans to bundle a TSA-confiscated box cutter with each box along with printed instructions on cutting holes for doors and windows. He has also devised plans for allowing the cut out material to serve as shutters to keep out wind and rain.

Heating and cooling options were not a planned part of the packages.

The boxes could later serve as caskets, cutting down on funeral costs.

The AARP was unavailable for comment.

Shown here is a prototype unit with a fireplace.

This photo shows Allen's related plans for multiunit senior housing.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled pansy-assed left wing bullshitting, already in progress ......

26. LOL! That's a hoot!
Those multi-units look a little pricey, though...

I watched this show too (the masochist in me, I guess)... and what kills me most is how these assholes are trying to solve a theoretical problem in the FAR future (37 years from now is when things start heating up, so to speak)... and meanwhile Rome is burning, we're blowing up children in the name of freedom, mega-corporations bestride the land insane with power, fucking anything that moves and what few intelligent citizens remain are dying in droves of sheer national embarrassment...

It's just nuts; what are they trying to save the future of Social Security for if we're all gonna be dead by 2012?

That's the final solution, huh, Butch?... no old people, no people at all, no problem, right?
