The horror reality of the anti choice people
The message board for "House" is having a debate about last episode where a 12 year old girl with many health problems aborted her few weeks old fetus without first notifying her parents (but she did, later).

Someone actually expressed an opinion that s/he would rather have young girls dying of botched illegal abortions, "sending a message" to other teen aged girls..

2. I saw the House episode when that they were refering.
I thought it was a "fair and balanced" look at the abortion issue. I guess they didnt care about the health issues that the girl was having.

9. No, it is a great program on... gulp.. FOX
about a brilliant physician who does not have much patience to.. patients or to rules and regulations but is intrigued by unexplained symptoms that do not fall neatly into specific ailments. For example, one of the difficulties with diagnosing that girl, was the fact that, yes, was only 12 and pregnant. And she developed a relatively rare disease that caused her blood to blot and to hemorrhage from bursting blood vessels. And the beginning of pregnancy is known to cause this. Which I wonder about how much damage such blood problem has already caused the fetus. And that's why House called for abortion without even offering alternatives, as some wanted. And... yes, it was very early. The girl was a diver wearing a very tight swimming suit. The ultra sound did show a larger one.. to show the viewers the solution to the puzzle.

15. Isn't it funny the disparity between Fox News and Fox entertainment?
Their "news" network is mostly economically and socially conservative propaganda while their entertainment fare is "The Simpsons", "The OC", "House", and all sorts of other programs that push the envelope, far more than any other mainstream network. It's very interesting, though I know different people are running them. But it is the same parent company. I wonder how the social conservatives who live for their daily dose of FauxNews can justify supporting what I'm sure they see as "filth" on prime time entertainment TV.

Live if Christian and obeying the Trinity of Dobson, Robertson, and Falwell Christians now worship and let die those who break even a minor rule.

6. We need to
copy that comment and post it on every board on the internet.
Hell, just copy it here, I'll be glad to distribute it.

People need to see what the reichwing fundamentalist agenda is and what will happen if we allow them to take away our reproductive rights.

This is NOT just about the Constitution, this is about women's lives.

Becuase if a young girl will realize that in order to get legal abortion she needs to notify her parents, and for whatever reason she cannot, she will end up seeking illegal abortion - back to coat hangers and bleeding to death. Is this really what you want?

By HappyGuest

Yes. It is what I want.
Because then, when 12,13,14,15,16,17 year old girls hear that their classmate died they will think twice (or much more) before having sex with a boy. You seem to perceive abortion as some sort of contraception. There is a baby? OK, lets pull it out. No no no. The best contraceptive is your mind - if you know you'll be in bad trouble if you get pregnant that will be a major deterrent for not having sex. You don't seem to be asking the key question here: why are teens having sex? Because of TV and magazines and movies. Because children are portrayed as adults. And children are not adults.
Yes, back to coat hangers.

I read a few other posts and my head exploded.

Is it okay if I repost this in the Choice and Reproductive Freedom forum?

7. The hatred towards women and female sexuality...
that is buried none too deeply in anti-choicers gets revealed in situations
like this one.

Their concern is not so much preventing abortions (if it was they'd be
handing out birth contol on the street corners), as it is contoling/punishing
sexual behavior they don't approve of.

16. I agree with that opinion.
I'm so pro-life that I think we should round up anyone who isn't, line 'em up along a ditch they've dug themselves, and shoot them all. Because of how SACRED life is.
