Bush, the GOP, and most Russians hate Muslims
Let's just come out and say it.

What else is behind the cheering of the Georgian crowds?

Lest anyone forget, the US sent troops to Georgia in 2002 "to help them with their Muslim problem" -- the Chechens:

US troops deployed to former Soviet republic of Georgia
By Patrick Martin
1 March 2002
http://www.wsws.org/articles/2002/mar2002/geor-m01.shtml

"Two US Air Force planes brought forty American military personnel to Tbilisi, capital of the former Soviet republic of Georgia, on February 21, marking the first deployment of US combat forces in the Caucasus region, adjacent to one of the world’s largest oilfields.
...

The deployment was confirmed at press briefings by Pentagon officials February 26. They said the 40 soldiers were members of an evaluation team sent from the military’s European Command to assess Georgia’s military needs. ...

As in the Philippines, the Pentagon maintains that the US troops will “advise” local forces on tactics and weapons to use against supposed terrorists, in this case Chechen and Islamic militants who operate in the Pankisi Gorge, near the Georgian border with Chechnya. They may also operate Predator drones that can fire missiles by remote control.

One Pentagon official told the Washington Post, “We have a clear connection between Chechens and al Qaeda. They clearly fall under the potential targets of the global war on terrorism.”

---
Now to 2005:

Consider this Freeper post on the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR)'s 10th annual report, titled “Unequal Protection,” on the status of Muslim civil rights in the United States .

"One of the principal strategies of radical Islam, the Muslim Brotherhood and organizations such as the Muslim American Society (MAS) and the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) is to create and perpetuate a climate of persecution against Muslims. It plays on the old strategy of attracting people's sympathies to false underdogs.

I would encourage all Freepers who are interested to obtain a copy of the forthcoming report and examine it for accuracy. To the extent possible I intend to verify the veracity of their claims and whether the report is factual or just another of their manufactured distortions to further their propoganda and anti-Western political agenda. I would welcome all comments and observations regarding the report from fellow Freepers."

1. Oh, add Christopher Hitchens to the list of Muslim-haters
It is unbelievable how they're hiding and denying it.

2. An alliance made in heaven....
....send the working class people in both societies to war against all Muslims to die for their masters.

3. And start a Crusade to give it historical/ideological cover
(forgetting that Crusades tend to be bloody disasters....)

4. Just saw another post on Breaking News about cheering Georgians
that didn't make the connection between their love of Bush and their hatred of Chechen rebels.

As I said on another post, it is like hating ALL Palestinians because of the suicide bombers.

These cheering Georgians remind me of the cheering ultra-Orthodox Israelis who love Bush too.

5. I have contemplated this problem and i really see no resolution.
The problem essentially that in the Koran are passages that that on face value make Islam inherently incompatible with any non believer, and place any any other culture, religion and any non believers life at risk.

viiii.12 "I will instill terror into the hearts of the infidels, strike off their heads then, and strike off from them every fingertip." {this sound familure..?}

http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=183355

That the passages can be interpreted as meaning something else is actually of little consequence... even if Islam had a Reformation and put those things in an 'Old Testament', there is still a back door ajar that leads to Hell, or leads hell to us.

I entirely believe that most Muslims do not entertain the archaic war stories as Islam law. I am only drawing attention to a potentially fatal flaw in Islams historical teachings that if not adequately addressed will result in Islam never gaining the trust of the modern world.

I believe that there are serious problems in Islam that are not being addressed. Until the problems are addressed, the Wests {and other parts of the world} fears are not just distortions, but can be found in writing in the religious Testiment of the people they fear.

6. But is it right to base a foreign policy on those passages?
If so, what about our relationship with countries that are entirely Muslim?

My concern is that countries with a minority Muslim population are increasingly liking the Bush Administration for wholly hateful reasons.

7. Sounds alot like that stuff in Revelation.
You know, where only those who are Christian get to go to heaven and the rest (the goats) are cast into pools of fire.

Muslims would have a hard time with that stuff.

8. Apparently Dems don't care either.
Nobody seems to want to look at this phenomenon geopolitically.

9. ...And so....?
Since the Koran is so often talking about Allah's vengeance and wrathful judgment and unbelievers/infidels, and warfare and authoritarianism...

Since the Christian Scriptures have passages that are wrathful/severe about unbelievers or critics of Jesus, and Revelations depicts such severe punishment against unbelievers, and a final war with Jesus slaughtering all with blood up to the saddlebags of the horse or whatever...

Since the Hebrew Scriptures has plenty of bigoted stuff about pagans and other nations and warfare and authoritarianism, etc....

Why is it a surprise that people hate one or the other, or all of these religions?

And since that isn't a surprise, isn't it obvious that many could be described as 'hating Musslims' or Christians or Jews, because of that?

And since certain extremists do hideous things, they certainly do fuel reactions against them.

Authoritarians, extremists, bullies, are dealing with a whole other sort of religion or god than other people are.

Christians. In fact, the muslims have never ever got along with
any other religion. And that comes from the fundamental teachings
of Koran, which is to convert all non-muslims to Islam, and those who
won't convert, destroy them.
