Bush Said The P Word !
ROFL!
I'll probably say it three more times. See, in my line of work you got to keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kind of catapult the propaganda. (Applause.) -- George W. Bush, 24 May 2005
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2005/05/20050524-3.html

And for a corresponding, but slightly better stated view:
"...Effective propaganda must limit its points of a few and these points must be repeated until even the last member of the audience understands what is meant by them."
-- Adolf Hitler, 1930

Maybe it's just me, but this so far is the most darkly hilarious thing I've heard from Bush yet. He actually said the P word. You're never supposed to SAY the P word! You just DO it!

1. I'm sure Rove and Cheney told him
never to say that word. (You can tell it had to come from one of them cuz he used the word "catapult," a word that isn't typically found in a dimwits vocabulary.)

Problem is, Bush is too DAMN stupid to remember what they tell him!

25. Indeed! And DOES deserve a kick.
For full documentation, here's the quote from a Washington Post piece by Dan Froomkin - irresistably titled "The Ostrich Approach" (!)

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/blog/2005/05/25/BL2005052501250.html

Kicked and nominated.

MAN! This is a KEEPER for all of us from the "Frame the Debate" discussions... Schmucko just proved our point for us. Out of the horse's-ass's mouth.

that the crowd applauded that shit! I mean, can you believe it? He may as well said, "I am playing you all, for the fools that you are. So thanks alot, dummies". My guess is that they would applaud that too. Idiots!

17. "Repetition" and "propaganda" are not synonyms.
Sometimes it is necessary to repeat something many times before the public will hear it. I will grant Bush that point.

Propaganda is a different matter altogether, though. Propaganda is not repetition for the sake of clarification or education. Rather, it is the manipulation of ideas in order to obfuscate and miseducate. Repetition can often encourage knowledge; propaganda relies on ignorance.

18. I think Bush meant that he has to keep repeating
Edited on Thu May-26-05 03:18 AM by Boo Boo
the truth over and over to "catapult" it over the propaganda. That is, what he says is right, and what those that disagree with him say is propaganda. So he speaks more like a football coach than a President; apparently that goes over big with morons.

I guess it's kind of an amusing malapropism the way he said it, but for me it really doesn't rise to the level of giving our wings dreams and putting food on our families.
