But maybe Joe Biden and Joe Lieberman can hold a press conference in suppport of Cheney's comments. Watch, listen...you won't hear ONE FREAKING WORD from the GOP denouncing Cheney's comments about Dean's mother. Not a word.

Are you paying attention Joes? STFU and support your own party.

2. Or one freakin' word from the corporate media.
It's OK when Republicans say bad things about Democrats but Democrats must speak softly and respectfully when discussing Republicans.

9. This Is The Important Point. As For Democrats, They're Free To Speak
their mind as they see fit.

You know, maybe some of them, like Russ Feingold, just didn't like the way Dean phrased his comments.

11. Then Russ Fiengold should call Dean, not CNN or Fox
Getting the picture yet? I'm not so naive as to think there are not GOPpers upset with some of the shit coming out of Cheney's mouth. The difference is, THEY don't go on national teevee and voice their displeasure with their own party. They stay focused, eyes on the prize.

Dems form a circular firing squad.

15. He didn't call them, the mediawhores went looking for quotes to chop up.
It seems to me, the real circular firing squad is here on DU.

The elected Dems made statements that were overall supportive of Dean and their criticism was mild.

Dean throws red meat to the base.
Elected Dems appear moderate.

That's how it's supposed to be.

DU'ers need to grow up and stop taking the Mediawhores' bait.

7. Wished Dean would have gone after Cheney's mom instead of white Christians
or saying most republicans have never worked an honest day in their lives.

8. Um...what did Dean say about white Christians that was disparraging?
I only heard him say that the GOP was "monolithic" and made up primarily of "white Christians." Which is factual. The GOP is 82% white Christians.

Don't fall for the GOP ruse!

6. that's what i thought as well...
...not a single Republican spoke out about Cheney's comments and not a Republican voice was raised about Sensenbrenner breaking the law in the hearing on Friday...a Republican can publicly admit to f**king a mule and nary a Republican will say a word "distancing" themselves from him...but let a Democrat breathe hard in public and 14 Democrats fall all over themselves to publicly criticze them...and the MSM doesn't ask the Republicans to beat up on each other the way they do Democrats...

10. If The Media Had Focused On Cheney's Remark & Featured It, GOPers'
in liberal states most certainly would have said something.

Frankly, this says something about DU'ers as well. So many took the Mediawhores' bait.

18. U have GOT to be kidding me!
"GOPer's in liberal states most certainly would have said something."

Yea...they sure would have...and it would have been totally, unquestioningly, and completely supportive of the vice president...

20. Not only that...
...but the FIRST LADY can euphemistically talk of her husband either masturbating, fellating, or getting f**cked by a horse --- and not even the Fristian Reich raises an eyebrow. :eyes:

I'm writing a bunch of them custom-made for Dick Cheney's mom. I'm sort of on a roll, but I'm running out of gas.

13. Attacking somone's mother
because you don't like what they're saying is just not cool at all... attack the issue... not the person or their family imo.

I was taught that when you attack/belittle a person (or their family) it means you don't have anything valid to say or evidence to discuss the real issue and is a sign that you're losing.

16. Except the media won't ask
When Dean says something, the media scurry out to buttonhole any Democrat they can get in front of a camera and demand a response. There are, sadly, far too many Democrats who will rush in front of a camera.

For example, when John Kerry mentioned Dick Cheney's lesbian daughter, a mention that Cheney himself graciously thanked him for making, the mighty Republican Wurlitzer spun into overdrive to make Kerry's inocuous comment into something awful and hateful, and demanded that Democrats far and wide condemn such personal politics.

Cheney, on the other hand, makes a slighting reference to Dean's mother, and nothing. Not a peep. No Republicans will be trapped on camera and pointedly asked whether Cheney's comment was overly personal or had crossed some previously undefined line. No Republican will have to either denounce or defend Cheney's inocuous comment. The media know that when a Republican does it, they're supposed to stare off into space, and move on to the next item on the list.

17. I'm not a Kerry fan but I too thought that Kerry calling Cheney's daughter
a lesbian and that Republicans have homosexuals within their ranks was just stating the truth, not making a disparaging remark, but you couldn't tell that by the Repuke Hyena response.

19. The right wing has learned how to use the lust for sensationalism
that the media have, and the media are happy to oblige since they make a lot of money distributing sensational crap. It's a lovely symbiotic, dishonest, codependent relationship.

The Dems have to learn to use and react to the media better. We're starting to. The DNC will have meetings at least annually, if not twice a year, on media--AWAY from Washington, D.C..
