2. Excellent report...
just what I expect from TPM.

Loved the part about the clean campaign inviting members of the press to view the nasty, bad, evil campaign literature sent by others. Very funny.

6. Hey, it's not my negative campaign literature.
Edwards may have the niceness campaign. But his folks aren’t above showing off what brickbats the other guys’ are using. In the hall behind the forest of tripods and the underbrush of AV cables and knocked over chairs, an Edwards staffer was telling a reporter he could come by Edwards Headquarters if he wanted to view the attack mailing Kerry was sending out about Clark.

3. Marshall is a hack
What's the CW again, Josh?

He is just another media stooge who wouldn't know what the hell is going on even if someone spelled it out. He gave the Threatening Storm author prime space for a far-ranging interview. What a maroon.

He's a younger Fineman, he just hasn't worked for Newsweek yet.

As a desciple of Bob Somerby I could spot a Ho a mile away and JM is certainly not a HO... The guy is on our side big time...

8. Calling him a hack is unadulterated BS.

When he isn't breaking stories, he's giving focus to the stories the media whores ignore. (Recent example-- the GOP stealing of Demopcratic Senatorial communications.)

I bet Josh Marshall is indirectly responsible for more late breaking news stories than any other source--direct or indirect. As far as echoing CW, I trust his grasp of it.

The guy is a great writer/reporter/commentator and is a treasure for our side.

9. Media treats this campaign as a horse race
Marshall goes backside to talk to the jockeys. It's still a horse race, just a little more nuts and bolts. How did they make the bridle? Which horse is a bleeder? Which one needs blinders?

The guy is a young hack, a future Fineman. I guess you could argue that at least he seems interested in the outcome of the race, but I really don't think he cares one way or another.

5. Thanks for posting
This comparison was interesting:

"If I’d expected to glean some clear message from the differences between the intensity and numbers and passion at the Edwards and Clark rallies, it didn’t turn out that way. Each was very different. Edwards is a bit like a high school rally: fun, loud, clean, exuberance, well-drilled. Clark’s event had no less intensity, but it was a bit more rough-edged, grittier somehow."
