14. we're not yankees
I'm your neighbor to the west (ND), and I'm pretty sure we're not Yankees. Not quite sure what the slang term for a midwesterner is (the south already took "hick")

5. 2 seperate monsters
Edwards, even though he's 50, has that whole JFK-Clinton thing going for him. My wife and I, on a whim, drove up to NH Saturday night to catch Edwards speak Sunday. He's amazing. He has a great presence, and I'll tell you this...He can win.

Clark gives a different type of hope. Winning. I really think he'd be a formidable opponent against shrub that will neutralize W's alleged "strong" points. I think Kerry, Clark and Edwards could win in the general election. But of that field, I think Edwards could really be a special President.

But I'll settle for winning.

7. I took a friend to see Edwards in person.
The friend merely humored me in my enthusiasm for Edwards up to that point. After seeing Edwards in person, that friend is more interested in the polling and the state of the campaign than I am, if you can believe it.

You see this guy in person and you're stuck on him.

11. they have a vastly superior chance of winning 270 electoral votes
Edited on Mon Jan-26-04 04:12 PM by DaisyUCSB
than with a rich, upper class, prep school, yale, guy from the 1 of the 2 most liberal new england states.

They(Clark and Edwards) could win Florida, most importantly, and they could also win Arkansas and/or Louisiana, as far as just the south goes.

But the ability to be somewhat competative in the south translates to an automatic thinning of GOP resources nationwide, making us more electable in all swingstates

Not only are they from the south, they're from the rural south

Unlike Bush who is basically a suburban cowboy.
