Clark CAN win NH
Edited on Mon Jan-26-04 05:55 PM by ColdnGrey
Once again today, there are a lot of sad sounding Clark supporters on this board. I may be naive but i still think Clark has a shot at 2nd place tomorrow or, maybe even first. NH is a finicky state and all the polling the in the world can't really catch the pulse of the voters up there. If you want to be inspired go back and read about McCain's upset. There is no reason that Clark can't do the same thing. So sit back tomorrow, and watch the results and be prepared for a pleasant shock not a funeral march.

Also, it should be said, that if we don't win tomorrow, we're still going to South Carolina, and Oklahoma, and New Mexico, and Delaware. Then we're going to Virginia and California and Missouri and then the FUCKING WHITE HOUSE!!!!!!...Yaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrgh

Dunno if we're gonna win Delaware or Virginia or Cali. But we're definitely taking Oklahoma, New Mexico, and possibly SC.

No way are we gonna win NH. But I think we will do no less than third, which is still a strong showing.

(on edit) Oh yeah... we're taking Arizona, too!

6. I've heard a lot of people say that Clark can't take VA..
but i have to beg to differ. I'm in the Hampton Roads area and there is a HUGE military contingent down here. He has decent organization at least in the cities surrounding me. I would not be surprised in the SLIGHTEST with a first or second place finish is VA.

7. I'd agree with second, definitely.
I'm just not sure Clark has enough people on the ground to pull out first, but hey... you're right, the military contingent might turn out for Clark in VA!

9. Here's something I think is relevant.....Back when Eissenhower (spell?)
was elected president, there were many who were leery of a military man being president...But as it turned out he (although a Republican) was very anti war...as Clark is...He warned about the military industrial complex....I believe these people who have actually been in the middle of a war can be the most effective in staying out of or getting out of war....IMO....:)

13. LOL LOL! (for the yell) I support Clark, but I am not sad.
It has been a difficult week. No doubt about it. ALL the candidates have had their trying times.

But I remind myself that we are NOT in Clark's territory, and that the good times are ahead.

Clark has his weaknesses, as do ALL the candidates. So what? He's got the right stuff, he's the real deal, and he'll make an outstanding President we can all be proud of.

It was always a longshot, wasn't it? It was a longshot for all of them, except possibly Kerry, and later on, Dean.

Clark needs to WIN some states in Feb. 3 primaries. If he doesn't, only then will I give up. HE'S GOT $$$$!!!! HE'S GOT TALENT!!! HE'S GOT BRAINS!! HE'S GOT A NEW TAX PLAN!!! And most importantly....HE'S GOT GERT!!!!!

Go, WES!

17. Absolutely!
I put the media on ignore last Friday night after watching the evening news. I still listen to NPR and plan to watch the News Hour tonight.

I've been sorry to read the depressing threads today. This is our first contest! NH is known to be independent. People aren't answering the phones--so the polls are likely way off. They're always off anyway. The crowds are big to huge. On NPR I just heard interviews with several people still undecided between Clark and Kerry. Anything can happen!

Wednesday is another day, and Feb 3 is another length of train track away. Let's see what happens tomorrow. I'm not ready to write NH off until the people vote.

21. I'm not sad for Clark, I'm sad for us. Lets be for real here for a min...
Clark aint gonna win NH. That isn't bad. HE can survive a 4th place. But he will drop out. You know what. HE deserves it. Why? because he has given enough for this country. Now he has a opportunity to lay back and enjoy his family and grandson. He thought of giving that up for us because he wanted to put us on the right track.
Well we screwed up and it is his gain. I for one am happy that he'll get the opportunity to be with is family. Then he can watch with Glee while GWB does works a big FUBAR on the USA

42. There is no justification for that statement, X
Simple as that.

We just raised $2 million bucks in a week and there has yet to be any votes cast in an election where Clark took place. Where do you come off being so negative?

If it had been me I would have skipped both of them and spent all our time and money in the South. That wasn't the strategy. So we're in New Hampshire and apparently listening to our enemies and believing what they are telling us.

Remember when they told us about how Dean was unstoppable? Remember how they told us that Bush couldn't be beaten? Remember when they told us that it was only a matter of time until we found WMD's in Iraq?

More to the point, can you remember when they told us the truth?

This is not the newsmedia that had the balls to bring down the President of the United States; to tell the truth about an injust war in Viet Nam; to ask George Bush "where is the beef" and "where is the vision."

This is the media that takes their cue from Matt Drudge and Bush Limbaugh; that was complicit in the lynching of President Clinton; that babbled that Al Gore was a liar.

You seem to think this is Edward R. Murrow and Walter Cronkite on the air. It isn't. It's Brittany Spears and Ricky Martin playing newspeople; media whores that think they know more than we do.

Why do you believe them? Why so quick to surrender?

Even if we lose in New Hampshire we can still win the nomination and the election. It is just a matter of numbers, and the numbers and the money and the candidate and the message are all on our side.

Simple as that.

27. Of course, but are we brave enough?
that is the question... So, sick of hearing why Clark is a republican, don't people want a General in this party? Don't we want military and thier families to listen to this party?

Clark can and will beat Bush, if we only let him.

23. I definitely think Clark has a better shot at the Indys than Lieberman.
Lieberman has staked his entire campaign on Indy, which doesn't bode well. Many NH Indys are military folks, which Clark plays extremely well too. Also Clark's previous political status as an Indy is something they can identify with.

My hunch is that recent polling understates the outcome for Dean and for Clark, both of which help Clark.

I see a mostly reasonable response to an attempt to spread misinformation about Clark, with a few people getting irritated about it.

This is markedly different from a single person invading a positive thread, and attempting to start a flamewar.
