Good luck to all candidate supporters tonight
As one who lives in California, I would love nothing more than the field to stay wide open until Super Tuesday. I would hope to see at least the top 5 or six candidates remaining viable. I think the dialougue created is very necessary. I would like to see Kucinich continue to press on as well for the very necessary points he brings to the party.

I support everyone in some sense of victory and preservation this evening.

1. best wishes to all
I already found our new Vincent Hamm btw :).

Perennial candidate Al Hamburg has lost 14 consecutive bids for President and for Governor, US Senate and Congress. He proudly describes himself as the "Very Independent UNPOPULAR Candidate" -- unpopular, he explains, because the special interests and bureaucrats hate him (well, that ... and maybe also because of the Nazi helmet he's wearing in his photo). A house painter by trade, Hamburg spent nearly twenty years in the Army -- serving in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He has run for state office repeatedly -- at various times -- as a Democrat, an Independent, and as a member of the now-defunct New Alliance Party. Claiming to be a homeless veteran, Hamburg suddenly popped-up in Nebraska in 2000 -- claimed that state as his new residency -- and filed as a candidate there for US Senator in the Democratic primary. Hamburg is now back in Wyoming and running for President in 2004. He filed FEC paperwork for the race in July 2001.

3. I'll second that about California. Not just that I'm up for a good debate,
but I think the longer the Repubs have to divide their attacks. The better off we are. I disagree with Terry McAuliffe that we need a candidate early.

8. Thanks and I say as well
that we will have one heck of a season here. We are so strong. NSMA, thanks. Interestingly enough, you are one person I have no idea about who you support but I thank you for your shout out to DK. He may trail everyone but make no mistake, he is VERY important in these times. Courage to all and luck to all.

10. Good luck to all!
I don't think we need to be in a rush to pick a candidate early. The primary season has been drastically foreshortened, so we WILL have a nominee earlier than otherwise, even if the races goes to the last primary.

We can look at the race again when someone reaches 500 delegates. That's only 1/4 of those needed to nominate. If nobody else is close when the first guy hits 500, there will be pressure on the others and donations will be harder to come by for the challengers. If it is close, the race goes on.

We are weeks away from that point now. Nobody is out of the running. Every campaign has ups and downs, and will have more before it is over.

In the meantime, the public is starting to pay attention. America loves nothing more than a good contest. We have been lucky to have so much interest in the process this time: first the Dean phenomenon and internet campaign, Clark's entry, Kerry's comeback, Edwards' surge, now maybe a Dean comeback . . . it has been full of excitement and surprises, and that keeps the media watching and the public interested.

The media concentrates on the horse-race aspect, but that's okay. Just get us the audience.

Waaaaay back in college, I had one lecture class that took attendance. Most don't, because of the large number. After it was over, I happened to ask the Prof why he required attendance when others didn't. He said, "The way I see it, if I can be sure your butts are in here, it's possible that one day your brains will show up, too. Without your butts in the seats, though, I know your brains are somewhere else!"
