Bush doesn't know if we can handle another terrorist attack?!?
WTF?
"The president was asked whether people should be worried about the government's ability to handle another terrorist attack given failures in responding to Katrina.

"Are we capable of dealing with a severe attack? That's a very important question and it's in the national interest that we find out what went on so we can better respond," Bush replied."

Gee, I wonder who the hell he's going to ask, especially since Chertoff doesn't know anything he hasn't seen on the wingnut news.

2. Why oh why isn't this happening ONE YEAR AGO?
This sorry-ass administration ISN'T SURE it can keep us safe? Wasn't that the major thrust of their campaign against JKerry? Nothing should surprise or outrage me any more, but this really bites ...

8. Yeah. His sorry ass ISN'T SURE it can keep us safe.
Classic cheapo, sleazy advertizing scheme: Bait 'n' switch. Give 'em a great song and dance to get 'em to buy tickets to enter the tent, only to discover they've been had once they're inside, 'cause there's nothing like what was being promised outside.

He isn't sure his government, HIS LEADERSHIP, can keep us safe? Isn't that what he and his assured us over and over and over WAS exactly the case? It WAS the key issue on which he campaigned.

20. junior is gonna be telling us next that "Home Court Advantage"
is the way to 'level the playing field' and wants to fight the terrorist over here instead of over there.

34. You could work for them. That was so well stated.
I guess I'm not creative enough. I hadn't thought of that convoluted excuse. Now that you've said it in public, the home court advantage concept may reach them, even if they hadn't thought of it themselves. We should all watch for it.

16. Now think back......
to the fall of 2004. Bush is in full campaign mode. He's out there, in our faces each and every day.

He's crowing about "Homeland security", "keeeping Americans safe from danger", "terrorists", "safe", protect you, etc etc etc.

Experts say that Bush won on domestic security issues. He was perceived to be strong in that area, but weak in most others.

And now he's not sure? Fucking clown.

jeez! we've been worried about it since 9/11/01! Chertoff and Bush BOTH seem to get their news from Rwingnut butt wipes/periodicals.

Clueless as to what is going on in the here and now. Absolutely clueless.

36. Invite it to Happen on Purpose?
Do we now need IITHOP?

I thought we had LIWOP in New Orleans. Let it Worsen on Purpose.

In summary, he failed re 9/11. How he proclaimed himself a hero when he was a failure, I will never know. We were then cursed with his boondoggle of Homeland Security. After 4 years, they couldn't even see a hurricane coming on radar. Again, he failed.

Now someone is supposed to believe that maybe Homeland Security can keep us safe? In what way? Homeland Security's FEMA can't even collect the dead bodies that are floating in New Orleans. Governor Blanco had to sign a contract to get them collected. The federal government has in every way failed.

What the hell was all that tax money for Homeland Securtiy spent on?

I thought we were already doing that every day
after 9-11- he even campaigned on that "fact." He has
had 5 years to "find out."

Good luck, everyone. Dont forget to put together your
disaster kit.

It really could not have reasonably been much worse unless they hit the towers more around 11ish to kill more people.

This makes me furious. It probably wouldn't have made a difference given the Diebold machines, but you have to ask . . . what if a large segment of the population hadn't been suckered by this bunch?

31. 57% of Americans know we can't.
Sunday morning, 1010 WINS radio: 57% of Americans think that the federal government cannot help them in the case of a natural disaster or terrorist attack.

We just had living proof. A hurricane comes with warning. A terrorist attack without. People evacuated New Orleans in great numbers. Had this been a terrorist attack, all would have been at home.

Homeland Security is incapable or unwilling to help and/or protect American people.

Waste of money. Disband Homeland Security.
