You gotta watch Deep Throat, the documentary if you can
With Tom Brokaw interviewing Bob Woodward. It really brings back the whole Watergate era for those who were around at the time, or gives a good idea of what it was like for those who weren't.

I saw it the other night and can't help but think of the similarities between now and the months or year leading up to Nixon's resignation.

It's been playing on Sundance now and again.

WHAT'S THIS?

TOM BROKAW REPORTS brings together Brokaw and Bob Woodward, two-time Pulitzer Prize winner and Assistant Managing Editor of The Washington Post. In this exclusive interview, Woodward talks about his new book, The Secret Man: The Story of Watergate's Deep Throat, and reveals how he cultivated his relationship with Mark Felt, the now-famous Deep Throat, then second-in-command at the F.B.I.; the location of the garage where their secret meetings took place; and how he protected Deep Throat's identity for 33 years. Interviews include Bob Woodward; former executive editor Ben Bradlee of the Washington Post; Carl Bernstein, who wrote a reporter's assessment for Woodward's The Secret Man; and actor Robert Redford, who played Woodward in ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN.

3. I thought that you meant the "other" Deep Throat documentary.
:)

I agree with your assessment - the similarities between how the Nixon people were handling the cover-ups and how Bush's handlers deal with his screwups were striking.

But then, some of the people are the same!

5. Deep Throat ???
Did someone say 'Deep Throat'? ... The wife'd never let me watch 'Deep Throat'...
We did try and watch 'Basic Instinct' on our anniversay once,
and it shocked me...

I looked over at her and I said... Good God! Is that really Sharon Stone's *****?
I've never seen one before! Save me, Mommy, save me!

All that naked flesh... I can't breathe. So, don't talk to me about 'Deep Throat'.

Oh....... that Deep Throat. Never mind.

TC
