Protesters in DC?

The CBS affiliate in DC, WUSA Channel 9, is even giving the counter-demonstrators feature segments this morning. They're getting even more time.

But, of course, that news operation has been singing the praises of the Iraq War since the beginning. At least, they're consistent in their coverage.

And, to think this used to the flagship for the CBS network news before it got taken over by Gannett (USA Today). Just awful. :eyes: :bounce:

1. Yes. In Atlanta...
Fox 5 mentioned the sad-ass rally yesterday and said they support the troops fighting for freedom and democracy in Iraq.

They did, at least, mention the low turn out.

2. Nope
My local affiliates don't bother to mention that such a thing happened.

4. It'll be intereresting to see if the non-violent direct actions today get
any coverage. Lots of folks are going to get arrested at the White House later today.

5. I have no idea
what my local newscasters are reporting - never watch them. As a matter of fact, I never watch national news either. Rarely watch TV!

6. Not local news, but CNN just did...
The began their last news update with -- SHOCKING! -- a story about the rally (but not the march). It showed a photo of the crows at the ANSWER rally from the vantage point of over Cindy Sheehan's shoulder. But then they, of course, had to mention the counter protest. "Hundreds were on hand to show support..." with the usual tight shots to attempt to mask the non-size of the crowd, although it didn't work. It looked as sparse as the hair on Cheney's head.

8. It wasn't on CBS at all on Saturday
The CBS evening news was all Hurricane all the time. There was a blurb about Sneer getting his knee operation, but that was it.

There was no protest.

9. Yes, one of the Green Bay affiliates
(whoever ran the show about Martha last night) CBS? They reported that there were about 100,000 protesters against the war on Saturday and that there was a rally to support the war on Sunday. They did not show any pictures of the Peace crowd, and showed a tight shot of the Pro-war "crowd" so that it was impossible to see how many were actually there. They did not mention numbers for the Pro-war rally. The overall effect was to present it as if both groups had equal representation. I cannot believe I used to trust this reporting.
