Can you believe this shit? DeLay to serve as GOP adviser
WASHINGTON -- Indicted Texas Rep. Tom DeLay will serve as a ''very powerful adviser'' to the Republican leadership while he battles the conspiracy charge that forced him to step aside as House majority leader, a GOP spokesman said Thursday.

''His experience and insight for over a decade of the Republican majority is invaluable to our leadership and to our members and will be used wisely,'' said Ron Bonjean, spokesman for Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-Ill.).

Bonjean said Hastert and DeLay -- two longtime allies -- met privately in the Capitol one day after the Texan was charged with a single count of conspiracy by a Texas grand jury investigating alleged violations of state election law.

11. no surprise here. They view it as political, worthy of political response
and he is just the asshole to come up with a political hammer to use on the subject.

But, here I suspect that the US public will tire of that same old, slime mold.

I suspect that with the rest of the PNAC neoconman falling star thingie going on, that even parts of the MSM would start to mention how lame ye olde approach has becometh.

17. This calls for lots of letters and phone calls to every member of the so-
called GOP 'leadership' that Hot Tub Tom will be advising. They will try and get away with anything they can unless they think it'll interfere with their reelection, let's remind them that this will indeed interfere with their reelections. It's disgraceful that elected officials, elected by THE PEOPLE, would take advice from someone indicted and under suspicion of wrong doing. They apparently are following the Bush doctrine of dealing with wrongdoing by close advisors and associates. Remember when Bush's policy morphed from 'if I find out any member of my staff had anything to do with this' that person will no longer work for my staff......... to if a member of my staff is indicted then they will be fired....... Apparently GOP 'leadership' takes this one step further, indictment is not enough, they must be convicted before we will divorce ourselves from the tainted individual.

18. This is a lot like Michael Brown resigning.
Resigned, but not gone. They just don't care. They assume they will get away with anything and everything. So far, they pretty much are.

19. Don't you find this intriguing though? They are down to a handful of
insiders they feel they can trust, or those that have them by the nuts, and they have to keep recycling them. This play is getting old. We need a new cast.
