"...found evidence of a 'male MP guard having sex with a female detainee.'"

"The military later screened some of the images for lawmakers, who said they showed, among other things, attack dogs snarling at cowed prisoners, Iraqi women forced to expose their breasts, and naked prisoners forced to have sex with each other.

In the same period, reporter Seymour Hersh, who helped uncover the scandal, said in a speech before an ACLU convention: "Some of the worse that happened that you don't know about, ok? Videos, there are women there. Some of you may have read they were passing letters, communications out to their men ... . The women were passing messages saying 'Please come and kill me, because of what's happened.'

"Basically what happened is that those women who were arrested with young boys/children in cases that have been recorded. The boys were sodomized with the cameras rolling. The worst about all of them is the soundtrack of the boys shrieking that your government has. They are in total terror it's going to come out.""

Because people aren't believing it is the reason this material needs to be released. People need visual and auditory evidence that it happened in order to get over their denial.

6. ask her why she thinks they are so anxious to keep it hidden-
if the pictures they've been keeping from us are nothing to really become enraged, discusted, and ashamed of, then why all the stalling? Why all the effort to hide what is innocent-
And, as an incest and rape survivor- i'm would never belittle the rape of a man- i think in some ways it might be harder for them, because they aren't used to being the vicitm- and the incredible shame involved. the few fellow survivors i've known who have been male, have been among those who quit this world sucessfully, by their own hand-
Denial won't make it not true- won't help stop it, or allow her to live in comfortable ignorance- though i understand the desire not to WANT to believe- chosing not to, is doing even more harm to those already harmed enough-

don't mean to sound angry- just tired of folks who would rather not 'know' what is done by people who 'seem' just like you, or me- as if not 'believing' has the power to make it not have happened.-

blu-
er than usual today

7. how about Sy Hersh.....known for his My Lai and Iraq reporting
there are few reporters out there (if any) that have more credibility
than Seymour Hersh

Seymour Hersh says the US government has videotapes of boys being sodomized at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq. "The worst is the soundtrack of the boys shrieking," the reporter told an ACLU convention last week. Hersh says there was "a massive amount of criminal wrongdoing that was covered up at the highest command out there, and higher."

go to this link and about half way down the page is a video link to Sy Hersh's speech at the ACLU
