More Government Propaganda? U.S. Government Forecasters Predict Warmer Winter

In the midst of John Kerry and other Democrats calling for more help for consumers to pay high heating bills this winter, the U.S. Government Forecasters “predicted a warmer than normal winter, offering hope to much of the Midwest and West as concern grows about the rising costs of heating during cold-weather.” This prediction seems very timely and suspect to me, given the heat on Republicans to ante up to help the poor with home heating bills…

The National Weather Service said there is a 60 percent chance of warmer than normal weather in the Dakotas, Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, north Texas, northern New Mexico and southern and eastern Colorado.

States adjoining that area, plus Washington, Oregon, Alaska and Hawaii also have a chance of being warmer than usual.

1. We're going to keep getting warmer winters, thanks to their C02 policy.

But on the bright side, it means more beachfront property (being flooded by hurricanes and rising tide).

2. A warmer winter doesn't equal balmy temperatures. 32 degrees

is freezing and lengthy exposure to this temperature can still lead to death. If they pushed for the release of this information, they should be ashamed of themselves, because this is a poor excuse for not wanting to help the poor with heating costs.

Probably means we're going to have a crappy cold one again this year.

Anyway, I really don't think the Weather Service is being used for propaganda. The weather's gonna do what it's gonna do, and that can;t be spun.
