I started another thread about sending something trivial like flowers or some other token to say thanks for raising hell in the senate and calling for this closed door session.

But it seems like a waste of money to spend on something that'll probably be tossed or given away.

Instead, someone posted about Reid's PAC: Give Em Hell Harry. The money raised will be donated to other candidates running for office; hopefully more like him who are willing to take a stand.

The $11.01 donation is a way to say "Thanks for taking a stand on November 01 (hence $11.01)". If you appreciate what Harry Reid is doing and can spare a few dollars - make a donation of $11.01 to the above link

We do enough complaining about democrats (and for some - rightly so). When one does well, let's show him our thanks and encourage him and others to start fighting back. I'm more than happy to dig up a few dollars for a democrat who I feel is fighting hard for what I stand in - today Harry Reid did just that!

BTW, I'm also going to write to my 2 democrats, Carper & Biden, and let them know that I will no longer donate or help out with any of their campaigns ESPECIALLY donations unless they support Harry Reid in this fight. Sure, they can count on my vote but I would rather give that money to a strong candidate that will stand up against the Republicans.

tonight on DU spreading the word. I've called Reid and will be writing a few letters, though not to my reps, Cornyn and KBH. I think that's a waste of time. I'm glad the donations will go towards benefitting all the worthy Dems that need help!

.... and Dean sent out an email tonight talking about Reid's triumph and asking for $$ and I sent them (the DNC) a few $$ as well.

People, it takes money to achieve in politics. The Republicans will happily break the law to finance their initiatives.

We don't have to break the law. We can use the internet and the multitudes that are us can make a huge difference. Unlike a corporation, my piddly donation is without strings. I trust the people I'm giving it to to use it wisely.

It is legal and ethical for us to contribute our $$ to the cause. Those of us who can afford to should do so.
