Playing political nice-nice while the country lays bloody and
dying and its people suffer. The way I see it, all this political bullshit needs to be cut through. It's like a formal dual or a formal military fight versus militia or gang fights...politicians playing nice-nice right now is a waste of time and energy.

Times are desperate. Our country is in grave danger and so are its people. Our way of life is threatened. Our government has been seized by people who would have you believe they are legitimate.

Now is not the time for politics as usual. Now is the time to use new tactics.

hell in a handbasket.

7. they fear the "shoot the messenger" syndrome ...
none seems willing to speak of the collapse of the empire ... they continue to play their fiddles, sing their little songs, and do their cute little tap dances ...

the path for Democrats is boldness and courage; and that can only eminate from the truths you've spoken ...

so far, we ain't got none of that ... leadership is about truth-telling, not fear and calculated, mechanical political strategy ...

8. Thanks. I agree with you. What we need is leadership. Politics
may or may not work in another time and place but it's like trying to fight a formal dual with militia. They aren't fighting fair and they are winning...they will slaughter us if we keep trying to fight old style.

10. True. Good quote. I guess this week, there has been progress...
I mean, as of late the Dems are getting more forceful. I know that they are in the minority so there is only so much that they can do. Still, playing nice-nice while you're getting bloodied is not the right approach.

11. combativeness
their new combativeness is very worthy of praise ... i thought what Reid did in closing the Senate and threatening a much tougher posture if republicans continued to lockout Democrats was a significant change in the dialog ...

but still, even in levelling charges at bush about the lies, the refuse to speak of his illicit MOTIVES for the war ... they allow a presumption to stand that he may have falsified the evidence but they don't talk about American imperialism or the grab for oil ... motives ... that's the truth-telling i'm afraid we'll never hear from the Democrats ...

also, i think it's time to stop viewing the Party as weak because we are out of power ... the Democrats have "major mo" right now ... it's time to speak out loudly and clearly to the American people and emphasize the points you raised in the OP ...

at the first real flex of Democratic muscle, the schoolyard bullies will back away from their tyranny ... they're running scared right now ... Democrats need to step up and make their case ... it will be filled with the power of a great shift in the political winds when they do ...

12. The time is now. You are right that if they step up there will be a
shift. It's physics. Plus, people are eager to hear this message right now.
