Chimpy: "We do not torture." Then what's the problem?
Edited on Mon Nov-07-05 12:04 PM by Sparkly

"There's an enemy that lurks and plots and plans and wants to hurt America again," Bush said. "So you bet we will aggressively pursue them but we will do so under the law."

He declared, "We do not torture."

Over White House opposition, the Senate has passed legislation banning torture. With Vice President Dick Cheney as the point man, the administration is seeking an exemption for the CIA.

If "we do not torture," why are they against legislation banning torture? How are rightwingers falling for this? Seems to me their script needs some work.

To honor her wise premise, I would like to ask the Chichenhawk In Chief why his malAdministration is so damned secretive.

5. But I'll Veto Any Bill That Expressly Forbids It
And, oh, how I wish he would.

Just think what hay we could make if the first and only bill Smirk ever vetoed was one prohibiting torture.

(He's threatened to do just that.)

So what do they think of him saying, "We do not torture?"

How do they have it both ways?

11. It depends on what your definition of "torture" is
wouldn't it be nice if we had a press that would follow up on bush's comments on this subject and hold him accountable????
