Are Karl Rove & Condi Now Sabotaging the Vice President and Scooter?
1.) ROVE FINGERS CHENEY? What did Karl Rove really tell Fitzgerald that last week just before the indictment of Scooter Libby to forestall his own indictment? Could he have fingered the Vice President and Scooter Libby to save his own ass?

2.) CONDI EYEING DICK'S JOB? Is Condi's surprise public challenge to VP Cheney's vocal support of torture actually a planned power play by her for his job? And did Rove, perhaps set up Cheney to be the spokesperson for the administration's torture policy...only to later have Condi undermine him in public and make him look bad?

3.) IS DICK MORRIS ON TO SOMETHING AFTER ALL? With Karl Rove's long track record of destroying even those who have worked along side him if it meant saving his own neck (see "Bush's Brain"), could Rove now be setting up Cheney to take the fall and let Condi become VP? Dick Morris has suggested many times lately (and curiously) that Cheney should resign and allow Condi to become VP?

4.) WHAT DOES LYNNE CHENEY NOW THINK OF ROVE & BUSH? If there is bad blood between Bush and Cheney now as many reports have indicated, could it be that Rove is fanning those fires himself? Is Andy Card on board with Condi and Rove? Will Cheney go down willingly? Will Lynne Cheney let him?

5.) WILL JOHN McCAIN BE THE REAL LOSER IN ALL OF THIS? And wouldn't it be ironic if after all of John McCain's public brown nosing and ass kissing of George W. Bush of late turned out to have no pay-off whatsoever for his presidential size ego? What if Bush chose Condi to be his VP should Cheney step down "because of health concerns”?

When will the Washington Post come out with their on-line stories for Thursday, 11/17?

I just checked and they still have Wednesday's info up.. Anyone know when they usually put the next day's scoop on there?

5. NYT has a better article
http://nytimes.com/2005/11/17/national/17leak.html?hp&ex=1132203600&en=fee2eb27983f03a8&ei=5094&partner=homepage

it's more informative than the WP piece and it doesn't have quite as much spin from the Libby/Rove defense team.

4. This is a good theory
GWB will be protected at all costs -- even if those who are pulling the strings have to find another surrogate president.

7. Interesting notion...
... but, if Rove's not scared of Cheney, he ought to be. Cheney wouldn't hesitate to have him gutted like one of tethered pheasants he's fond of shotgunning....

8. Here's a juicy tidbit...
in the latest Time magazine, there is an article about Cheney. It says that there are some serious things going on with Cheney. He's not seen very often in Washington. Apparently there's been a falling out between himself & Bush (yeah, right).

He's become very private, and he's "circling the wagons". He has a tight circle of "advisors" who he talks to. They are, among others, his wife Lynne, and his 2 daughters.

His family? What a jerk. No wonder Cheney's ratings are in the toilet, at 19%.

The article also said that while Bush changed tactics when under intense pressure, Cheney prided himself on "NEVER backing down". I repeat: scum.

9. I don't think that Lynne Cheney will sit by and let Rove disgrace her Dick
I really am beginning to believe that Mr. Rove is the one pulling the carpet out from under Uncle Dick. Thanks for your input.

10. Hey David! Let's see how I do...
1) Very possibly. Rove wouldn't have even a kissing cousin of a compunction about doing such a thing, and since it's very probable that this whole mess was started by Deadeye Dick's ham-fisted retaliation, the blame easily falls that way. Who knows?

2) Condi's a lightweight. She's a quavering and horrible spokesperson, and she's the product of a very sad life. She's Mary Tyler Moron. Needing respect for her mediocre brain, she has overachieved all her life, looking for approval. If she's maneuvering like that, a truly smart person like Cheney will chew her up and spit her out. Much as the background musings suggest that the right might want to run her as a presidential candidate, those in the know in the party know that they hate blacks and women. They also hate intellectuals, and limited though her circuitry is, that's how she's identified herself.

3) I don't buy it. Who knows? Ol' toe-sucker certainly comes up with some third or fourth ways of dealing with things, but this doesn't pass the sniff test.

4) She hates them all, and she loves her man. They're cut from the same unscrupulous cloth, and vicious harpy that she is, she's loyal as hell to her ailing lion. As her champion struggles just to live, her frenzied loyalty burns ever brighter. Much as I detest her, she's got some character; think Nancy Reagan with a bit of talent.

5) Those in the know within the party can hardly keep a straight face about McCain. He'll suck up to them and spend his popularity to buttress their ugly policies and actions, and the ONLY way they'd ever let him seriously contend for the presidency is if the Bush regime is engulfed in the flames of legal scandal. He's a fool and a dick; don't let the smile and twinkly eyes fool you.

Nuff said?

11. Good analysis of a good analysis...
I really am enjoying all of this infighting and back biting. I just wish the Dems would stand up and offer the American people an alternative.

12. Condi is the only hope for the neocons.
She's the only WH insider with approval above 50% and a trusted neocon stooge. If there's any justice she'll be dragged down with them, but it's more likely that the MSM and PTB will build her up (with potential to replace Cheney or run in '08).

Any far-sighted Democrats should already be mapping out advance moves and contingency plans to counter Condi.
