John O'Neil targets Bernie Sanders
Edited on Sat Nov-19-05 11:52 PM by paineinthearse
Don't shoot me, I'm just the messenger.

I subscribe to a conservative email alert, here's the latest gem from them. The author is John O'Neil, head of the (not so) swift boat vets hate group.

Swift Boat Veteran supports U.S. Senate candidate v. Socialist

Swift Boat Veteran supports U.S. Senate candidate v. Socialist: Click below to join John O'Neill against Bernie Sanders!

This CONSERVATIVE ALERT is a special message from John O'Neill and Friends of Greg Parke:

As you know, I helped start the 'Swift Boat Veterans for Truth' during the 2004 election for one reason...

...I believed the American people should know the truth about John Kerry.

There was no way I was going sit idly by as John Kerry tried to become our "Commander-in-Chief," while concealing his actual record.

Today I agreed to assist Lt Col Greg Parke, USAF (Retired) in his mission to prevent socialist candidate Bernie Sanders from entering the U.S. Senate.

Sanders is as radical as they come.

In fact, he's so far to the Left that he calls himself an "independent" because he thinks Democrats are "too conservative."

His record in the House of Representative - particularly on defense matters - is disgraceful.

He introduced four separate amendments to slash crucial defense and intelligence spending even deeper than Bill Clinton ever proposed.

He's consistently fought President Bush on issues of national security - most specifically he voted against the use of force to oust Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein

And even though we are in the middle of a global war on terror, Bernie Sanders proudly says he's "leading the charge against the Bush Administration."
And that's just the national security issues.
Sanders is even worse on social and budget issues.

He's constantly voting to undermine America's traditional values and, to raise your taxes, and to spend millions on wasteful government programs.

The Republican candidate running against Sanders is Lt. Col. Greg Parke, USAF (Ret.).

Greg is a good friend of mine, and he will make an excellent U.S. Senator. Let me tell you a little about him.

Greg loyally and bravely served our country through his 22 years in the United States Air Force as a front-line fighter pilot, flying the F-16 Fighting Falcon.

What's more, Greg spent four years serving as a commander and diplomat in the Middle East -- giving him valuable firsthand knowledge on how to win the War on Terror;

Like you and I, he believes:

America should be strong, safe, and secure!
America's traditional values should be upheld!
Taxes should be lower!
Government should be smaller and more efficient!
In this vital battle to stop Bernie Sanders, Greg has my strongest possible endorsement;
And he needs to have your support as well - Please Click Here:

Because Bernie Sanders is treated like a "hero" by liberal Hollywood elites and just about every left-wing radical special interest group they are all pouring money into his campaign.

In fact, the radical far left group Moveon.org raised more than $100,000 for Sanders in just one weekend.

This liberal support has given Sanders a massive campaign war chest and a distinct advantage in this race.

That's why Greg needs your immediate help today. We must act now to level the playing field!

My friend, if he's going to beat Sanders, Greg must have the support of conservatives from coast to coast.

And while every contribution matters, Greg's also going to need some really generous individuals who care about the future of our country to come forward with contributions of $500, $1,000, or $2,000.

Because by supporting Greg you have the chance to have a huge impact on the future of America.

The stone cold reality is this: If we can't raise enough money for Greg, Bernie Sanders is going to win this race and take a seat in the United States Senate.

My friends and I were blessed to have the support of thousands of patriotic Americans like you.

Now Greg desperately needs your help today.

He's got 100% of my support.

I hope he can count on you, too.

Thanks in advance for answering this call to duty.

Sincerely,

:puke:

John O'Neill
Swift Boat Veteran

P.S. Please join with me today to provide crucial financial support to Greg Parke's campaign for the U.S. Senate:

4. The difference between Sanders and Kerry
...Sanders has a backbone and knows how to deal with scumbags like O'Neill. He won't have to take 15 opinion polls to see which way the wind is blowing.

10. Horseshit. Dems then should have stood for Kerry in the manner Kerry stood

for Murtha, quickly and tough with all the other Dems doing the same soon after.

Bush didn't defend himself ONCE about TANG. His RNC machine did it all. The DNC had nothing similar in place to control the message.

Kerry was like Kenny Anderson, an outstanding quarterback with a weak frontline.

13. The difference between the Sanders attack and the Kerry Attack
is that in the Sanders attack, O'Neil is using his name recognition with RW lunatics to FUND RAISE while O'Neil against Kerry was continuing a 35 year vendetta acainst Kerry raising disscredited charges. That the media covered any of their charges after they were definitively shown to have lied on several charges was beyond outrageous.

I've seen your posts and realize that you have major problems with your Senator even though you supported him against Bush. Many of your complaints against Kerry - his IWR vote and other things he did or said are fair game - but here you put thei up a week and a half after it was thouroughly sdiscussed - just to diss Kerry.

Do you condone what O'Neil did? Did Kerry deserve to have his and Teresa's character smeared by RW operatives who have done less good in their lives that that couple do in an average week? Kerry stood up for every other veteran unfairly slimed faster than anyone else - it's pretty sad he got such poor support himself. Maybe if a smirky Begala or a smirky Carville had turned their outrage on these liars and Bush and defended Kerry instead of saying "Bill clinton would have..." it might have helped. (It obviously never occureed to them that Kerry was racing a much more evil campaign - that attempted to turn a war record that even Nixon's men agreed was clean into a liability. Clinton was heading off, for the most part real accusations (the going to the USSR was the only comparable nasty unfair campaign and the MEDIA backed Bill.)

Your dislike or disdain for Kerry shouldn't lead you to use O'Neil against him. This goes beyond politics - 2004 or 2008.

And this has nothing of the viciousness of O'Neill's attacks on Kerry.

7. That's why
We help Bernie fight these scum bags! I want to see him win the Senate seat for Vermont.
I love Vermont! I'm in NC, and if I had the money to buy land I would so be in Vermont!

Anyone can donate to Bernie's campaign for Senate and one of the many good things about Bernie is that he takes no corporate money!

This is one Representative that's going to get some of my hard earned money because he fights for the people.

12. Mel, it's been my dream for years.
My son volunteered for Bernie at the Vermont State Fair and was fortunate enough to talk with him for over 4 hours. The people love Bernie, O'Neill is a POS that will lose this battle.

STATE-WIDE - Vt has a single congressional district. He has been elected many, many times by ALL the voters in Vt.

My name like that. I haven't written in cursive since like fourth grade so that's the only way I know how to write cursive.

It could very well be a selling point for more donations to come Mr Sanders way.

18. Bernie discussed this on Thom Hartmann several weeks ago.
He stressed the neglect our military troops suffer under this administration by cutting benefits and closing hospitals. He is very aware of the Swiftboats plan to smear him so we must continue to contribute to his campaign election.

O'Neill is furious that Bernie refuses to take money from corporations and fears the many "activists" will raise too much money.

I think it's a great idea to send letter to Bernie supporters, they detest O'Neill.
