"Hope your children are beheaded."

I got this as an email and clicked the WPost story below. This is one paragraph from the WP story.

.....After the Sacramento City Council voted 8 to 1 for a "rapid and comprehensive" withdrawal on Nov. 1, members received hundreds of threatening e-mails saying things such as "You should be hanged" and "Hope your children are beheaded." The e-mails mostly came from out of state.....

8. There's no way back from
this division in the country. This is a very bad signal that even if we win back the house and senate and beyond this will get very bad.

9. "the emails mostly came from out of state."
That is the operative phrase. Make no mistake, the right fringe is very well organized. However, their weaknesses are that they're rigidly hierarchical and that they're now a minority in this country, and growing smaller every time another soldier is ripped to shreds in one of their wars or their moron of a president opens his over privileged, undereducated mouth. They know this and are getting desperate. Expect them to sink to new verbal depths and even to begin acting out from time to time. They are losing, and they can't stand it, and they will continue to make it all worse.

While we're waiting for them all to get frogmarched back to the lunatic fringe where they belong, we'll have to hope that newspapers, city councils, state governments, and all others who have spoken truth to power will notice what is happening and how small the fringe really is.

11. When they come to town they stick out like freakishly deformed thumbs
and they always stop for a head count the moment they get off of the escalators in the Metro.

10. Someone needs to distribute this in print
to all those who don't use the Internet. People don't know that these things are being said. We need to establish a national town by town truth squad to let people know what is going on.
